Another OBS Spring Sale graduate joined the ranks of graded stakes winners on Saturday when Rockingham Ranch and David A. Bernsen LLC’s 2016 graduate Bobby Abu Dhabi scored his first graded win, taking Santa Anita’s $200,000 Kona Gold Stakes (G2). The now 4-year-old colt by Macho Uno was consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales LLC to the 2016 April Sale, where he turned in an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5 before going to Rockingham for $335,000. Now 8-4-2-0 for trainer Peter Miller, he has earned $345,100 to date.  watch his under tack video

It’s been a busy spring for OBS April graduates, highlighted by the exploits of Allen Racing LLC and Bloom Racing Stable LLC’s Midnight Bisou, who will be no worse than second choice in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) after her sensational victory in the $400,000 Santa Anita Oaks (G1) on April 7. It was the third straight graded stakes win for the 3-year-old daughter of Midnight Lute, trained by Bill Spawr, who heads to Churchill Downs with a 5-3-2-0 record and $450,000 in earnings. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds to the 2017 OBS April Sale, she turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was sold to Jeffrey Bloom for $80,000. watch her under tack video

The OBS Spring Sale is now a truly international marketplace, and its graduates have spent the past few months embellishing that reputation. In Japan, Green Fields Co. Ltd.’s Mr. Melody took the Chunichi Sports Sho Falcon Stakes (G3) at Chukyo on March 17. Consigned to last year’s sale by Harris Training Center LLC, the Scat Daddy colt worked an eighth in :10 flat before he was purchased by Narvick International for $400,000.  watch his under tack video

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi’s 2017 gradauate Rayya has had a busy spring, winning the UAE Oaks (G3) at Meydan by 3-3/4 lengths on March 1. The 3-year-old daughter of Tiz Wonderful returned on March 31 to run second to highly regarded Mendelssohn in the UAE Derby (G2). Trained in Dubai by Doug Watson, she’s now 5-2-3-0 with earnings of $644,507 to date. She breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show before she was purchased out of the Shooting Star Sales LLC consignment at the 2017 OBS April Sale. Now training at Santa Anita in the care of Bob Baffert, she’s being pointed for a meeting with Midnight Bisou in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). watch her under tack video

But the biggest noise overseas was made by J Stables, Head of Plains Partners LLC, Summers, Summers, Kisber and Summers’ Mind Your Biscuits, who defended his title on March 31 in the $2-million Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) at Meydan Race Course. Closing with a furious last to first rush down the stretch, he caught fellow OBS graduate X Y Jet (August ’13, January ’13) in the last jump and won by a head in a track record 1:10.12. It’s the fifth graded stakes win for the 5-year-old son of Posse, consigned by SBM Training and Sales, Agent, to the 2015 OBS April Sale, where he turned in an eighth in :10 3/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Chad Summers, he’s now 21-7-8-3 and has earned $3,719,286 to date. watch his under tack video
