Haughty scores in Penn National’s Penn Oaks

Bradley Thoroughbreds, Belmar Racing and Breeding, LLC, Tim Cambron, Anna Cambron, and Team Hanley’s lightly raced Haughty saved ground in the early going of the $150,000 Penn Oaks on Friday at Penn National, split horses to go after the lead on the outside on the turn, took command in the stretch and drew off to score by 4-3/4 lengths. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old filly by Empire Maker, making her first start since a third-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1). Ed Orr and Susie Orr’s Silver Prospector is the latest OBS millionaire graduate after closing on the outside down the stretch and taking Monday’s $400,000 Steve Sexton Mile Stakes (G3) at Lone Star Park by a length and a half. Willy Boi, King Cab one-two in Gulfstream’s Big Drama Stakes

Lea Farms LLC’s Willy Boi stalked fellow OBS graduate King Cab (June ’21) into the stretch of Gulfstream’s $65,000 Big Drama Stakes, took command after straightening away and beat him to the wire by 5-1/4 lengths. It’s the second stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred son of Uncaptured, trained by Jorge Delgado, now 11-5-1-0 with $199,085 in earnings. The Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2022 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds & Horses of Racing Age begins Monday, May 30th and runs through Saturday, June 4th. All six sessions begin at 7:30 a.m.

Hip No.’s 1 – 187 will go to the track on Monday, May 30th, Hip No.’s 188 – 374 work on Tuesday May 31st, Hip No.’s 375 – 561 will breeze on Wednesday, June 1st, Hip No.’s 562 – 748 go Thursday, June 2nd, Hip No.’s 749 – 935 breeze Friday, June 3rd. Hip No.’s 936 – 1060 plus supplements 1061 – 1111 (Two-Year-Olds) and Hip No.’s 1151 – 1166 plus supplement 1167 (HRA) will go on Saturday, June 4th.

The Sale is set for Tuesday, June 7th through Thursday, June 9th with each session beginning at 10:00 a.m.

OBS will again offer Online Bidding during the June Sale. Buyers will be able to go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS Bidding Screen with their credentials. The Supplemental Catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2022 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com.

Millionaire OBS graduate Lighthouse sells for $1.7-million in Australia

LNJ Foxwoods’ OBS April Sale graduate Lighthouse was sold to Irish bloodstock agent Dermot Farrington for $1.7-million on Tuesday at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in Australia. The 5-year-old daughter of Mizzen Mast was a graded stakes placed stakes winner in the U.S. and a five-time stakes winner in Australia, topped by her recent victory in the ATC Coolmore Cup (G1) at Rose Hill Gardens. She ended her racing career with a 19-8-5-1 record and earned $1.4-million. The Critical Way, High Limit Room one-two in Monmouth’s Get Serious Stakes
