A colt by Violence and a filly by Munnings each brought $550,000 to top the first session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2021 March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training.

  • Hip No. 48, a son of Violence consigned by Kirkwood Stables, Agent went to Spendthrift Farm LLC. The dark bay or brown colt, whose eighth in :9 4/5 was co-fastest at the distance at Thursday’s Under Tack session, is out of Lemon Belle, by Lemon Drop Kid, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Unrivaled Belle.
  • Hip No. 216, a daughter of Munnings who worked an eighth on Friday in :10 flat was sold to Donato Lanni, Agent. Consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, the bay filly is a half sister to graded stakes winning OBS graduate Aegean out of Show Me, by Lemon Drop Kid.
  • Hip No. 163, a son of Unified consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc., (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, was sold for $530,000 to Carolyn Wilson. The dark bay or brown colt, whose quarter on Thursday in :20 2/5 was the sale’s co-fastest, is out of stakes winner Promise Me a Cat, by D’wildcat, from the family of graded stakes placed stakes winner Tempered Halo.
  • Hip No. 188, a son of Cairo Prince consigned by Harris Training Center LLC, Agent, went to Narvick International for $525,000. The dark bay or brown colt by Cairo Prince, who turned in an eighth on Thursday in a co-fastest :9 4/5, is out of stakes placed Sadie Be Good, by Big Drama, from the family of graded stakes placed stakes winner It’sallinthechase.
  • Hip No. 202, a son of War Front who turned in an Under Tack eighth on Friday in :10 flat, went to Ron Ellis for $525,000. The bay colt, consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, is out of stakes winner Serene Melody, by Street Cry (IRE), a daughter of champion Serena’s Song.
  • Hip No. 243, a son of Liam’s Map consigned by Pick View LLC, Agent, was sold to Narvick International for $525,000. The gray or roan colt, who breezed a quarter in:20 3/5 on Friday, is a half brother to stakes placed Delia O’Hara out of stakes placed Starlet O’Hara, by Discreetly Mine.
  • Hip No. 10, a daughter of Into Mischief consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, was sold to Yuji Hasegawa for $500,000. The bay filly, whose eighth in :9 4/5 was co-fastest on Thursday, is out of stakes winner Island Escape, by Petionville, and is half sister to graded stakes winner Tricky Escape.
  • Yuji Hasegawa also went to $500,000 for Hip No. 224, a daughter of Into Mischief consigned by Gene Recio, Agent.   • Mike Ryan, Agent, went to $430,000 for Hip No 83, a daughter of Curlin consigned by Pike Racing, Agent. The bay filly, who turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 on Thursday, is out of Milania, by Bernardini, a daughter of grade one stakes winner Keeper Hill.
  • Hip No. 110, a son of Unified who eighth in :9 4/5 was co-fastest on Thursday, was sold to Spendthrift Farm for $400,000. The dark bay or brown colt, consigned by Dark Star Thoroughbreds (Stori Atchison), is a half brother to stakes winner Malibu Saint out of stakes winner Mykindasaint, by Saint Ballado.
  • Hip No. 67, a son of Lord Nelson consigned by GOP Racing Stable Corp., Agent, was purchased by Three Amigos for $385,000. The chestnut colt, who breezed an eighth on Thursday in:10 flat, is out of stakes placed Luna Dorada, by Seeking the Gold, a daughter of graded stakes winner Laramie Moon (ARG).
  • Hip No. 27, a son of Pioneerof the Nile consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, Agent, whose eighth in :9 4/5 was co-fastest on Thursday, was sold to James Divito, Agent, for $375,000. The gray or roan colt is a half brother to graded stakes winner Lucy N Ethel out of Kid Silver, by Silver Ghost.
  • Hip No. 220, a daughter of Nyquist consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, went to Ben McElroy, Agent for KSI for $350,000. The chestnut filly, who breezed an eighth in a co-fastest :9 4/5 on Friday, is out of Silk Purse, by Elusive Quality, a half sister to graded stakes winner This Ones For Phil.

For the session, 163 horses sold for a total of $18,560,500 compared with 145 horses grossing $12,994,500 at last year’s first session. The average price was $113,868, compared with $89,617 a year ago, while the median price was $60,000, compared with $50,000 last year. The buyback percentage was 19.7%; it was 39.8% in 2020.

March Sale of Two-Year-Olds begins Tuesday

The 2021 OBS March Sale of Two Year Olds in Training begins Tuesday, March 16th. Hip No.’s 1 – 281 will sell Tuesday and Hip No.’s 282 – 563 will be offered Wednesday, March 17th. Both sessions will begin at 11:00 a.m. As always, the Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the TDN, DRF, Blood-Horse, and Past The Wire websites.

The catalog can be viewed via the OBS website at http://obssales.com. The website’s searchable and sortable master index provides links to under tack and walking videos, pedigree and consignor information as well as pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed. It has also been updated to allow shortlist creation.

Hip No. 259, a Candy Ride (ARG) colt also consigned by Eddie Woods, has a newly minted stakes winning half brother in Silver State, winner of Oaklawn’s Fifth Season Stakes in January and yesterday’s Essex Handicap.

March Sale Under Tack Show begins Thursday, March 11th

The Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2021 March Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training begins Thursday, March 11th.

There are three sessions, with Hips 1 – 188 breezing on the first day. Hips 189 – 376 will go Friday, March 12th and Hips 377 – 563 will go Saturday, March 13th. All three sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Under Tack Show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN, Blood-Horse and Past The Wire websites.

A total of 561 juveniles are cataloged for the two-day sale, set for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 16th and 17th, with both sessions beginning at 11:00 a.m. Hips 1 – 282 will sell on Tuesday; Hips 283 – 563 will sell on Wednesday.

In the past year, the sale’s graduates have continued to produce the kind of results horsemen expect when they come to buy horses in Ocala in March. Since the beginning of 2020, March graduates were on the board 220 times in stakes races, accounting for 70 stakes victories. At the game’s highest level, 53 March grads won or placed 80 times in graded stakes. .

Long a source for top level racehorses, the OBS March Sale is also a launch pad for success in the breeding shed. Catalog cover boy Into Mischief was North America’s leading sire in 2019 and 2020. Purchased for $180,000 by B. Instilled Regard was consigned by Tom McCrocklin, Agent, to the 2017 OBS March Sale, and purchased by OXO Equine for $1,050,000 after turning in an Under Tack quarter in :20 4/5. 2021 OBS March Catalog now online

The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2021 March Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com.

A total of 561 juveniles have been cataloged for the two-day sale, set for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 16th and 17th, with both sessions beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Hips 1 – 282 will sell on Tuesday: Hips 283 – 563 on Wednesday. The Under Tack Show will span three days, beginning Thursday, March 11th with Hips 1 – 188. Hips 189 – 376 will breeze Friday, March 12th and Hips 377 – 563 will go Saturday, March 13th. All three sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Under Tack Show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the TDN, DRF and Blood-Horse, and Past The Wire websites.

Gracing the front cover of the catalog is 2007 OBS March graduate Into Mischief, purchased for $180,000 by B. Wayne Hughes out of the M&H Training and Sales consignment. watch his under tack video After winning three of six starts including the CashCall Futurity (G1) at Hollywood Park and earning nearly $600,000, he entered stud in 2009. Rising steadily in the stallion ranks, he has topped the North American Sire List for the past two years, becoming the first stallion breaking the $20-million mark in single-season progeny earnings in 2020. The long list of his current and recent major winners is headed by reigning Horse of the Year Authentic. His son Goldencents, also an OBS 2-year-old graduate, was the leading third crop sire in 2020.

 

For the past few years, OBS March graduates have upheld the sale’s legacy as a prime source of top class racehorses. Twenty-nine March graduates have accounted for 41 graded stakes wins since the beginning of 2019, with 166 winning or placing in 376 stakes.

OXO Equine’s Instilled Regard, who joins the stallion ranks in 2021, ended his days at the races with back to back wins at Belmont Park in the Fort Marcy Stakes (G2) in June and Manhattan Stakes (G1) in July. The highlight of First Row Partners and Hidden Brook Farm’s back cover girl Nay Lady Nay’s (IRE) 2020 campaign was a victory in the WinStar Matchmaker Stakes (G3) at Monmouth Park in July. Now training on the farm in Ocala for a return to the races, she will go back to trainer Chad Brown with a 10-5-1-1 record and $466,180 in earnings. Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Madaket Stables LLC’s Speech won or placed in three graded stakes in 2020, winning Keeneland’s Ashland Stakes (G1) in July in a track record 1:41.26 for the mile and a sixteenth. The 4-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Mr Speaker is a two-time OBS graduate, purchased out of the Summerfield consignment at the 2018 Winter Mixed Sale, then resold by SBM Training & Sales, Agent, for $190,000 at the 2019 March Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Racing in Japan, Koichi Nishikawa’s Cafe Pharoah ended his 3-year-old campaign approaching the million dollar mark in earnings. He won three stakes including the Unicorn (G3) and Sirius Stakes (G3), leaving him with a 6-4-0-0 record and $917,019 in earnings. Laoban filly tops Winter Mixed Sale finale

The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2021 Winter Mixed Sale ended on a high note as Hip No. 805, a New York-bred yearling daughter of Laoban consigned by McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent was sold to Sand Hill Stables for $175,000 topping Wednesday’s Open Session as well as the entire sale. The bay filly is out of Best Reward, by Grand Reward, a half sister to stakes placed Avery Glenn.

  • Hip No. 616, a son of Mor Spirit consigned by Beth Bayer, Agent, went to Donato Lanni, Agent, for $115,000. The dark bay or brown yearling colt is out of Cat Be Nimble, by Tale of the Cat, from the family of graded stakes winner Niner’s Home.
  • Hip No. 577, a yearling son of Into Mischief consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was sold to First Finds for $92,000. The bay colt is out of Annabird, by Flower Alley, a half sister to grade one stakes placed stakes winner Achiever’s Legacy.
  • Dailey Bloodstock LLC paid $67,000 for Hip No. 652, a son of Laoban consigned by McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent. The yearling bay colt is out of Double Dinghy Day, by Forestry, a daughter of graded stakes placed Windsong.
  • Hip 673, a yearling son of Army Mule consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was purchased by Rosewood Stable for $65,000. The dark bay or brown colt is out of Fife, by Souvenir Copy, a daughter of stakes placed Musical Pal.
  • Hip No. 647, another yearling son of Army Mule consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent, was sold for $60,000 to First Finds. The chestnut colt is out of Dial the Doctor, by Dialed In, from the family of champion Unbridled.

For the Open session, 231 horses sold for a total of $2,054,800 compared with 199 horses bringing $1,648,900 in 2020. The average price was $8,895 compared with $8,286 last year, while the median price was $3,500 compared with $5,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 21.4%; it was 24.9% in 2020.

For the Consignor Preferred session, 101 horses sold for a total of $1,935,300, compared with 85 horses grossing $1,912,300 in 2020. The average price was $19,161 compared with $22,498 a year ago, while the median price was $10,100 compared with $13,000 last year. The buyback percentage was 28.8%; it was 37.9% last year.

For the Horses of Racing Age session, 74 horses grossed $1,696,500 compared with 70 selling for a total of $1,366,900 in 2020. The average was $22,926, up from $19,527 a year ago, while the median price was $13,000 compared to $11,000 last year. The buyback percentage was 10.8%; it was 26.4% in 2020.

For the entire Winter Mixed Sale, 406 horses sold for a total of $5,686,600, compared to 354 horses bringing $4,928,100 last year. The average was $14,006, up from $13,921 in 2020 while the median price was $6,000, compared with $7,500 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 21.7%; it was 19.4% in 2020.

Bear Brian tops Winter Mixed Sale’s opening session

Hip No. 368, Bear Brian, consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent for Stonestreet Stables LLC, went to Kerri Raven for $150,000 to top the Horses of Racing Age section on the first day of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2021 Winter Mixed Sale. The 3-year-old bay colt by Tiznow, who captured a maiden special at Sam Houston Race Park on January 9th, is out of stakes winner Lil Super Bear, by Super Saver.

Hip No. 182, a son of Practical Joke also consigned by Summerfield, was purchased by Ronald Clark Shepherd for $130,000 to top the Consignor Preferred Session.  The bay yearling colt is out of Mobeautiful, by Uncle Mo, from the family of graded stakes winner Speed Dialer.

  • Hip No. 321, Polterer, a 3-year-old son of Ghostzapper, went to Danny W. Brown for $110,000. Consigned by Kaizen Sales (Richard Kent), Agent, the chestnut colt is out of graded stakes winner Honey Hughes, by Henny Hughes.
  • J. Stable LLC paid $100,000 for Hip No. 360, Pledge, a 3-year-old filly by Candy Ride consigned by Six K’s Training & Sales, Agent. A 6-1/2 length winner of a maiden special at Turfway Park on January 2nd, she’s a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Hello Don Julio out of Faithful, by Vindication.
  • Hip No. 25, a daughter of Mendelssohn consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent, was sold to Democracy Bloodstock for $95,000. The dark bay or brown yearling filly is out of stakes placed Simply Confection, by Candy Ride (ARG), from the family of champion Ashado.
  • Hip No. 117, a daughter of Malibu Moon consigned by Kerri Szegi, Agent, went to Windylea Farm – NY LLC for $95,000. The bay yearling filly is out of graded stakes placed Fortunia, by Leroidesanimaux (BRZ), a half sister to grade one stakes winner Dionisia.

  • Hip No. 289, Street Ruckus, also consigned by Kaizen, was sold to Holly & David Wilson & Peernboom – Bowyer, LLC for $85,000. The dark bay or brown 3-year-old colt by Street Boss, a half brother to grade one stakes placed Sir Sahib, is out of Xs Belle, by Dynaformer.
  • Hip No. 307, Waltzing Champ, by Ghoszapper, went to Al & Bill Ulwelling for $85,000. The 4-year-old chestnut gelding, consigned by Kaizen Sales (Richard Kent), Agent, is out of First Waltz, by Medaglia d’Oro, a daughter of graded stakes winner Spring Waltz.
  • Hip No. 338, Brother Brody, consigned by L. G. Agent, was sold to Emerald Sales, Agent for Michael Eiserman for $80,000.   • Hip No. 63, a daughter of Twirling Candy consigned by Pelican State Thoroughbreds, Agent, was sold for $65,000 to Al & Bill Ulwelling. The bay yearling filly is out of American Kitty, by Tale of the Cat, a half sister to stakes placed American Diva.

For the Consignor Preferred session, 98 horses sold for a total of $1,893,300, compared with 85 horses grossing $1,912,300 in 2020. The average price was $19,319 compared with $22,498 a year ago, while the median price was $10,050 compared with $13,000 last year. The buyback percentage was 30.9%; it was 37.9% last year.

For the Horses of Racing Age session, 73 horses grossed $1,676,500 compared with 70 selling for a total of $1,366,900 in 2020. The average was $22,966, up from $19,527 a year ago, while the median price was $13,000 compared to $11,000 last year. The buyback percentage was 12%; it was 11.4% in 2020.

Winter Mixed Sale’s Under Tack Show set for Monday

The Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s Winter Mixed Sale’s Horses of Racing Age Section is set for Monday, January 25th at 9:00 a.m.

There are 151 horses cataloged in the Racing Age section, with Hip No.’s 251- 345 in the original printed Winter Mixed Sale catalog. A printed supplemental catalog, including Racing Age supplements Hip No’s 346 – 371, is now available at the sales grounds.

The Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website at obssales.com and via the Blood-Horse, Daily Racing Form, TDN and Past The Wire websites. The Under Tack Show will be recorded and can be viewed on the website, in tt’s entirety or by individual hip number. They will also be available in the Video Room as well as several kiosks in the breezeway and covered walking ring. Winter Mixed Sale Supplemental Catalog now online

The supplemental catalog to the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2021 Winter Mixed Sale is now available in the company’s website in the sale’s main page. go to the Winter Mixed Sale

Six horses have been supplemented to the Preferred Session, for a total of 183 horses cataloged as Hip No.’s 1 – 183. The Session will begin Tuesday, January 26th at 10:30 a.m.

The addition of 26 supplements swells the Horses of Racing Age Session to a total of 121, cataloged as Hip No.’s 251 – 371, beginning immediately following the Preferred Session.

Thirteen horses have been added to the Open Session, which gets underway Wednesday, January 27th at 10:30 a.m. with a total of 351 horses cataloged as Hip No.’s 451 – 803.

The Racing Age section’s optional Under Tack Show is scheduled for Monday, January 25th at 9:00 a.m.

The supplemental catalog will be available in print at the sales grounds.

Updated OBS Health and Safety protocols

In order to conduct auctions in a safe manner, the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company will continue with the health and safety protocols instituted in 2020. In addition, face coverings are now mandatory in the sale pavilion, under the covered walking ring and in the back walking ring.

Attendance at sales and breeze shows will be restricted to sale participants only, with social distancing encouraged in all areas. Employees will wear masks when interacting with the public.

Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the facility, cleaning crews will again wipe down and disinfect common areas, all interior doors will remain open and exterior doors will be manned and opened for customers.  There will be no valet parking. Seats in the auditorium will  be blocked off for social distancing.

OBS will continue to offer Online Bidding during all Sales. Buyers may go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS Bidding Screen with their credentials. Phone bidding will also be available for approved buyers.

The Food Court will offer limited service. Consignors may place advance orders for their staff.

The Open Session, with Hip No.’s 451 – 789 cataloged, is set for Wednesday, January 27th and will also begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Under Tack Show for the Horses of Racing Age Section is set for Monday, January 25th and will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Danzing Candy colt tops OBS Open Yearling Sale

Hip No. 632, a son of Danzing Candy consigned by Abbie Road Farm (Lisa McGreevy), Agent, went to Donato Lanni, Agent for $115,000 to top the Open session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2020 October Yearling Sale.  The dark bay or brown colt is out of Bosserette, by Street Boss, a half sister to stakes winner Meditations.

 

 

 

  • Hip No. 702, a son of Declaration of War consigned by K P Sales, Agent, was sold to Mick Price Racing, Australia, for $72,000. The dark bay or brown colt is out of Miss Prudence, by Discreetly Mine, a half sister to stakes winner Annulment.
  • Hip No. 615, a daughter of Exaggerator consigned by Sennebec South Farm, went to Joseph Besecker for $62,000. The dark bay or brown filly, is out of stakes placed Bazinga B, by Lion Hearted, from the family of champion Cash Deposit.
  • Hip No. 440, Kenner, a son of Laoban consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was sold to de Meric Sales for $55,000. The bay colt is out of Mystery Mix, by Awesome Again, a daughter of graded stakes winner Lovely Lil.
  • Hip No. 458, a daughter of Lord Nelson also consigned by Sennebec South Farm, went to Afleet Equine, Agent for $52,000. The chestnut filly is out of stakes placed Our Eponene, a half sister to stakes winner Our Fantene.
  • JAL Racing / Jose A. Lopez paid $52,000 for Hip No. 517, a son of Uncaptured consigned by Whitman Sales LLC, Agent. The chestnut colt is out of Senza Fina, by City Zip, a daughter of stakes winner Ragtime Gal.

For the session, 260 yearlings sold for a total of $2,887,400, compared with 267 bringing a total of $3,356,400 a year ago. The average price was $11,105 compared with $12,571 in 2019, while the median price was $7,750 compared with $8,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 20.7% compared with 23.3% a year ago.

At Tuesday’s Selected session, 91 horses sold for a total of $3,650,500, compared with 130 yearlings bringing $5,689,200 at the 2019 Selected Sale. The average price was $40,115 compared with $43,763 last year, while the median price was $28,000 compared with $30,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 32.6%; it was 30.1% in 2019.

Hip No. 149, a daughter of Not This Time consigned by Abbie Road Farm (Lisa McGreevy), Agent, went to Tonja Terranova, Agent for $225,000 to top Selected Sale of Yearlings. The dark bay or brown filly is out of Midnight Magic, by Midnight Lute, a half sister to graded stakes winner Coalport.

For the Two Year Olds and Horses of Racing Age section, 30 horses sold for a total of $823,500, averaging $27,450 with a $15,500 median figure and an 18.9% buyback percentage.

Zedan Racing Stables, Inc. went to $155,000 for Hip No. 39, a son of Empire Maker consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, to top the October Sale’s Two Year Olds and Horses of Racing Age section. The 2-year-old bay colt, whose quarter in :21 1/5 was co-fastest at the distance at the Under Tack Show, is a half brother to graded stakes winner Majestic River out of graded stakes placed stakes winner Tempus Fugit, by Alphabet Soup.

For the Selected Yearling Sale, 80 horses sold for a total of $3,338,000, compared with 130 yearlings bringing $5,689,200 a year ago. The average price was $41,725, compared with $43,763 last year, while the median price was $29,000, compared with $30,000 in 2019. The buyback percentage was 40.7%; it was 30.1% a year ago.

For the Two Year Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age section, 29 horses sold for a total of $816,500, averaging $28,155 with a $16,000 median figure.

A filly by Candy Ride (ARG), a gelding by Uncaptured and a colt by Empire Maker sped quarters in : 21 1/5 to share honors for the fastest work at the distance at the Under Tack Show for the Two Year Olds and Horses of Racing Age section of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2020 October Sale.

  • Hip No. 2, consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, is a 2-year-old bay filly by Candy Ride (ARG) out of stakes placed Garnet Crystals, by Lion Heart, a half sister to graded stakes winner Rerun.
  • Hip No. 35, a 2-year-old bay gelding by Uncaptured consigned by Ocala Stud, is out of stakes winner Shining Moment, by Yes It’s True,
  • Hip No. 39, a 2-year-old bay colt by Empire Maker also consigned by Top Line, is a half brother to graded stakes winner Majestic River out of graded stakes placed stakes winner Tempus Fugit, by Alphabet Soup.

Hip No. 17, a 2-year-old bay colt by Kitten’s Joy consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, turned in a quarter in :21 2/5. He’s out of Magicalcarpetride, by Smart Strike, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Smooth Roller.

Alfonso Cammarota’s 2018 OBS Selected Yearling Sale graduate Miss Marissa is the most recent headline maker, taking Pimlico’s Black-Eyed-Susan Stakes (G2) last Saturday. It was the first stakes victory for the 3-year-old filly by He’s Had Enough, purchased for $11,000 out of the Woodford Thoroughbreds consignment. Erich G. Daniel Pita’s Princess Secret has been busy closer to home, taking Gulfstream’s FTBOA Florida Sire Susan’s Girl Stakes in August and the FTBOA Florida Sire My Dear Girl Stakes in September. The 2-year-old Florida-bred filly by Khozan was consigned by Journeyman Bloodstock Services, Inc. (Brent & Crystal Fernung), Agent, to the 2019 October Selected Yearling Sale and sold to Manuel Pita for $30,000. Sierra Racing & Sterling Stables LLC’s Raymundos Secret scored in Del Mar’s John C. Mabee Stakes (G2) on September 5th. It was the first stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by Treasure Beach, now 7-5-0-0 with $188,971 in earnings for trainer Phil D’Amato. Consigned by Pleasant Acres Farm, she was sold for $7,000 at the 2017 OBS October Yearling Sale.

Erich G. Brehm’s My Girl Red broke her maiden at first asking at Santa Anita then returned to take the Sorrento Stakes (G2) at Del Mar. Trained by Keith Desormeaux, the 2-year-old filly by Texas Red has earned $120,500 to date. Unbeaten Yaupon wins Pimlico’s Chick Lang Stakes

William & Corinne Heiligbrodt’s Yaupon, slammed from both sides at the start of Thursday’s $200,000 Chick Lang Stakes (G3) at Pimlico, took the lead quickly, set the pace, then drew away in the stretch to score by four lengths. Fellow OBS graduate Relentless Dancer (April ’19) checked in third. That’s two straight graded stakes wins for the unbeaten 3-year-old colt by Uncle Mo, trained by Steve Asmussen, now four for four with earnings of $288,264. At the 2019 OBS June Sale, he turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat before he was purchased by East Hickman Bloodstock for $255,000 out of the Wavertree Stables consignment. watch his under tack video
