Edgeway repeats in Del Mar’s Rancho Bernardo Handicap

Hronis Racing LLC’s Edgeway successfully defended her title in Del Mar’s $150,000 Rancho Bernardo Handicap (G3) on Sunday, best by a half a length after a stretch-long battle with co-favorite Slammed. It’s the fifth stakes win for the 5-year-old daughter of Competitive Edge, purchased for $275,000 out of the Mayberry Farm consignment at the 2019 OBS Spring Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. Alifyfe Racing, LLC’s unbeaten Fingal’s Cave made it four for four in her stakes debut, taking command of Friday’s $194,000 Fleet Indian Stakes at Saratoga a sixteenth out and scoring by half a length.  Consigned to the 2021 OBS Spring Sale by Sequel Bloodstock, Agent for Chester & Mary Broman, she was sold for $75,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5.
