Winngate Stables LLC’s unbeaten OBS Spring Sale graduate Kathleen O. is on her way to the Kentucky Oaks (G1) after a 2-3/4 length victory in the $250,000 Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2). The 3-year-old daughter of Upstart was last early, but swept to contention on the turn, took the lead after straightening away in the stretch and was going away at the wire. Now four for four for trainer Shug McGaughey, she has earned $379,730 to date. A two-time OBS graduate, she was sold by Stuart Morris at the 2020 Fall Mixed Sale, then purchased for $275,000 out of the Niall Brennan Stables consignment at the 2021 Spring Sale after working an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5. watch her under tack video   Spring Sale walking video

Harrell Ventures, LLC’s Main Event took the lead at the start of Gulfstream’s $100,000 Cutler Bay Stakes, opened daylight after straightening away in the stretch and cruised home to a 3-1/4 length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Bernardini, consigned by Ocala Stud, Agent, to the 2021 OBS Spring sale where he was sold for $130,000 to Steven W. Young, Agent, after turning in an Under Tack quarter in :21 3/5. Trained by George Weaver, he’s now 5-2-1-0 and has earned $121,333. watch his under tack video   Spring Sale walking video

Nice Guys Stables’s King Cause went right to the lead in the $250,000 Kentucky Cup Classic Stakes at Turfway Park and was never headed, gamely holding off a late challenge and scoring his first stakes win by three quarters of a length. Fellow OBS graduate Tartufo (April ’19) checked in third. Mike Maker trains the 7-year-old son of Creative Cause, who has compiled a 27-6-3-6 career record and earned $415,528. At the 2017 OBS Spring Sale, he breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 and was purchased out of the Parrish Farms consignment for $200,000 by Dennis O’Neill. watch his under tack video
