Jean Gros takes Nakayama’s New Zealand Trophy Stakes

Susumu Fujita’s Jean Gros took the lead at the start of the $1,023,000 New Zealand Trophy Stakes (G2) at Nakayama Race Course, gamely held off a late challenge and scored his first graded stakes win by a head. That’s three straight stakes victories for the 3-year-old colt by More Than Ready, trained by Hideyuki Mori, now 8-4-2-1 with over $850,000 in earnings. After breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat, he was purchased by his trainer for $265,000 out of the Pike Racing consignment at the 2021 OBS March Sale. watch his under tack video   March Sale walking video
