Speedway Stables LLC’s unbeaten Corniche has been chosen as the winner of the Eclipse Award as 2021’s champion 2-Year-Old Male. After winning at first asking at Del Mar, he scored in Santa Anita’s American Pharoah Stakes (G1) and wrapped up the year with a dominating performance in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1). Trained by Bob Baffert, the son of Quality Road ended his juvenile campaign with $1,262,000 in earnings. Consigned to the 2021 OBS Spring Sale by de Meric Sales, Agent, he breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat and was purchased by Marette Farrell, Agent, for a sale-topping $1,500,000.
