Michael Lund Petersen’s Adare Manor pressed the pace in Sunday’s $196,000 Las Virgenes Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita, took command on the turn, then drew away with complete authority, coasting to a 13-length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Queen of Thorns (April ’21) settled for second. It was the stakes debut for the 3-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo, trained by Bob Baffert, now 4-2-1-0 with $176,600 in earnings. After breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 at the 2021 OBS June Sale, she was purchased for $375,000 out of the Julie Davies consignment by Donato Lanni, Agent. watch her under tack video

Omar Aldabbagh and Jeff Ganje’s Shotgun Hottie circled horses on the turn to reach contention in the Aqueduct’s $100,000 Ruthless Stakes, continued her rally down the stretch and was up in the last jump to win by a nose. It’s the first stakes victory for the 3-year-old filly by Gun Runner, consigned to the 2021 OBS April Sale by Gene Recio, Agent, and sold for $45,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in:10 3/5. Trained by William Morey, she’s now 5-2-1-0 and has earned $134,720 to date.
