Unbeaten R Adios Jersey romps in Tampa’s FTBOA City of Ocala Florida Sire Stakes

Averill Racing LLC and ATM Racing’s unbeaten R Adios Jersey made it six for six, taking the lead at the start of Saturday’s $100,000 FTBOA City of Ocala Florida Sire Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs and never looking back en route to an 11-length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Starship Nala (January ’17) settled for second. That’s three straight stakes wins for the graded stakes winning 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Adios Charlie, trained by Georgina Baxter, who has earned $427,400 to date. Consigned by breeder Ocala Stud to the 2020 OBS March Sale, she was sold to Averill Racing for $12,000 after breezing an Under Tack quarter in :22 3/5.  watch her under tack video

Willis Horton Racing LLC’s Last Samurai came around horses on the turn in Saturday’s $100,000 Poinsettia Stakes at Oaklawn Park, took command in the final furlong and was best by three quarters at the wire. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old graded stakes placed son of Malibu Moon, sold for $175,000 by Gene Recio, Agent, at the 2020 OBS March Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Now 12-3-2-2 for trainer Dallas Stewart, he has earned $312,744 to date. watch his under tack video

 Ivery Sisters Racing’s Monte Man successfully defended his title in the 100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Sprint Stakes at Fair Grounds on Saturday, coming off the rail to reach contention on the outside turning for home, rallying down the stretch and getting up late to score by three quarters of a length. Fellow OBS graduate Sir Wellington (October ’19) checked in third.  It’s the ninth stakes win for the 8-year-old gelding by Custom for Carlos, sold for $125,000 by Royal Thoroughbred International at the 2015 OBS March Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Trained by Ron Faucheux, he’s compiled a 50-18-8-9 career record and earned $794,223. watch his under tack video 

Mike Piazza Racing Stable LLC’s Breeze Rider was a wire to wire winner of Saturday’s $95,840 My Charmer Stakes at Turfway Park, drawing away in the stretch to win by 4-3/4 lengths. It’s the second straight stakes victory for the 4-year-old filly by Paynter, trained by Steve Manley, now 24-11-3-2 with earnings of $349,428. She was purchased for $30,000 out of the SBM Training & Sales consignment at the 2019 OBS June Sales after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. watch her under tack video
