Cross Border a millonaire after leading OBS sweep of Turfway’s Prairie Bayou Stakes

Three Diamonds Farm’s Cross Border led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of the $84,600 Prairie Bayou Stakes at Turfway Park on Saturday, circling the field on the turn, taking charge after turning for home and easing away to score by a length and three quarters. Mr Dumas (April ’18, October ’17) was second with Hush of a Storm (April ’20) checking in third. The graded stakes winning 7-year-old ridgling by English Channel, trained by Mike Maker, is the latest OBS millionaire, with a 39-11-8-5 career record and earnings of $1,087,929. Consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, to the 2016 OBS June Sale, he was sold for $10,000 after breezing a quarter in :22 2/5 at the Under Tack Show.  watch his under tack video

Red Oak Stable’s unbeaten Make It Big is three for three with two stakes wins after rallying to reach contention in Friday night’s $401,200 Remington Springboard Mile Stakes, taking the lead in the stretch and holding on gamely to win by half a length. It was the first try around two turns for the 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by Neolithic, purchased for $120,000 out of the Paul Sharp consignment at the 2021 OBS Spring Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5.
