King of Dreams leads OBS sweep of Gulfstream’s Showing Up Stakes

Victoria’s Ranch’s King of Dreams led a 1-2-3 sweep of Saturday’s $65,000 Showing Up Stakes at Gulfstream, taking over after turning for home and drawing off down the stretch to a three length victory over Fighting Force (April ’20), with Sigiloso (April ’20, October ’19) checking in third. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Air Force Blue, now 11-4-1-0 for trainer Juan Carlos Avila with earnings of $157,656. At the 2020 OBS Spring Sale, he sped an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5 and was purchased for $180,000 out of the Scanlon Training and Sales consignment. watch his under tack video  Spring Sale walking video

Kaleem Shah, Inc.’s Bella Vita stalked the leaders early going of the $100,000 Betty Grable Stakes on Sunday at Del Mar, took command at the top of the stretch and cruised from there to victory by a length and a half. That’s two stakes wins for the graded stakes placed 4-year-old daughter of Bayern, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5 and was purchased for $400,000 by Ben McElroy, Agent for KSI, out of the Harris Training Center LLC, consignment at the 2019 OBS Spring Sale. Louis Lazzinnaro LLC and Michael Dubb’s General Ken is two for two and a stakes winner after swinging out for the drive in Belmont’s $100,000 Awad Stakes on Friday and getting up in the last jump to score by a nose.  Trained by Chad Brown, he’s earned $77,800 to date. The 2-year-old colt by Violence was purchased for $20,000 out of the Top Line Sales consignment at the 2021 OBS Spring Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 3/5. watch his under tack video
