Three Diamonds Farm’s Cross Border successfully defended his title in Saratoga’s $250,000 Bowling Green Stakes (G2) on Saturday, sitting just behind the leaders in the early going, swinging out for the drive, taking command a furlong from home and scoring by a length and a quarter. It’s the third Saratoga stakes win for the 7-year-old ridgling by English Channel, consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, to the 2016 OBS June Sale, and sold for $10,000 after breezing a quarter in :22 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Jeff Drown and Don Rachel’s Founder picked up his first stakes victory on Saturday in Monmouth’s $102,000 Tale of the Cat Stakes, charging on the outside down the stretch, taking over inside the eighth pole and winning by a length and a quarter. Fellow OBS graduate Hot Blooded (October ’19) checked in third. Champion Equine LLC’s My Sassenach broke her maiden with a flourish in Saturday’s $100,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Desert Vixen Stakes at Gulfstream, stalking the early leaders, taking over after turning for home and bounding away to score by 8-1/4 lengths, with fellow OBS graduate Rufa Red Knot (October ’20) settling for third. It was the second start for the 2-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Uncaptured, sold for $152,000 by Craig L. Wheeler, Agent, at the 2021 OBS Spring Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Trained by J.
