Con Lima captures the Saratoga Oaks Invitational

Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Joseph F. Graffeo, Eric Nikolaus Del Toro and Troy Johnson’s Con Lima went straight to the lead in Sunday’s $700,000 Saratoga Oaks Invitational Stakes (G3) and was never headed, turning back a stretch challenge and scoring by three quarters of a length. It’s the third graded stakes win for the 3-year-old daughter of Commissioner, consigned to the 2020 OBS March Sale by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, where she went through the ring after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. With five wins in eight starts this year for trainer Todd Pletcher, she has compiled a 13-7-5-0 career record and earned $884,865 to date. watch her under tack video

Shea D Boy’s Stable’s lightly raced Shea D Summer added Gulfstream’s $75,000 Azalea Stakes to her resume on Saturday, leading of 1-2-3 OBS sweep of the seven furlong test. The 3-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Summer Front led from gate to wire, scoring by 3-1/4 lengths over Restofthestory (April ’20), with Competitive Speed (June ’20) checking in third. Brilliant Racing LLC’s Yes It’s Ginger pressed the pace set by fellow OBS graduate Elle Z (June ’19) in Sunday’s $100,000 KY Downs TVG Preview Ladies Sprint Stakes at Ellis Park, fought her down the stretch and eased away late to best her by a length and a quarter. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 5-year-old daughter of Yes It’s True, trained by Gregory Foley, now 18-6-5-0 with $295,511 in earnings. Claim To Fame Stable’s Net Gain captured the $65,000 Cyclones Handicap at Prairie Meadows for the third time, rallying wide from off the pace and getting up late to win by a length. It’s the fifth stakes win for the 9-year-old son of Include, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before he was purchased for $325,000 out of the Scanlon Training Center consignment at the 2014 OBS Spring Sale. Trained by Clinton C. Stuart, he’s now 62-9-9-11 and has earned $565,398. watch his under tack video

Hardy Racing Stables LLC’s It’s a Wrap set the pace from the start of Saturday’s $50,000 Evangeline Mile Stakes, bid the field goodbye on the turn and drew away down the stretch to win by 4-3/4 lengths. It was the stakes debut for the 4-year-old Twirling Candy gelding, trained by Keith Bourgeois, now 14-4-1-4 with $125,070 in earnings. At the 2019 OBS June Sale, he worked an eighth in :10 1/5 and was purchased for $83,000 out of the Eddie Woods consignment.  watch his under tack video
