William Branch’s Carotari defended his title in Gulfstream’s $75,000 Silks Run Stakes, leading from gate to wire and easing away late to win by a length and a quarter. That’s three stakes wins for the 5-year-old gelding by Artie Schiller, consigned to the 2018 OBS Spring Sale by TIP Thoroughbred Investment Possibilities, Agent, where he went through the ring after working an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Under Tack Show.
