Vertical Threat takes Mahoning Valley’s Steel Valley Sprint Stakes

MyRacehorse.com and Slam Dunk Racing’s Vertical Threat went right to the lead despite a slow break in Monday’s $200,000 Steel Valley Sprint Stakes at Mahoning Valley, quickly opened daylight, then drew away in the stretch to a 7-1/2 length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Flatter Me Please (April ’19) checked in third. It’s the second stakes win for the two-time OBS graduate, sold by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2018 Winter Mixed Sale and then purchased for $100,000 out of the Grassroots Training & Sales LLC consignment at the 2019 Spring Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Trained by Richard Baltas, the 3-year-old colt by Tapiture is now 5-3-0-0 and has earned $182,950 to date. watch his under tack video
