Ride a Comet romps in Woodbine’s Kennedy Road Stakes

John C. Oxley and My Meadowview Farm LLC’s Ride a Comet saved ground in the early going of Saturday’s $181,650 Kennedy Road Stakes (G2) at Woodbine, came off the fence to surge to the lead between horses a furlong from home, then drew away in hand to score by a length and a quarter. It’s the second graded stakes win for the lightly raced 5-year-old son of Candy Ride (ARG), two for two this year after two years away from the races. Consigned by Flying Fish, Agent to the 2017 OBS April Sale, he was sold for $375,000 after turning in an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. Now 12-7-0-1 for trainer Mark Casse, he has earned $418,944 to date.  watch his under tack video

It’s the second straight stakes victory for the 3-year-old filly by Paynter, trained by Kevin Attard, now 11-4-3-1 with $374,649 in earnings. At the 2019 OBS Spring Sale, she breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 and was purchased for $150,000 out of the Randy Miles consignment. watch her under tack video

Hill Stable and Swick Stable’s Funny Guy rallied five wide down the stretch and caught the leaders in the shadow of the wire to take Sunday’s $97,000 New York Stallion Series Stakes at Aqueduct by a neck. That’s five stakes wins for the 4-year-old colt by Big Brown, consigned by Mayberry Farm to the 2018 OBS March Sale, and sold for $45,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. Now 16-6-5-0 for trainer John Terranova, he has earned $618,645 to date. watch his under tack video
