Starship Jubilee beats the boys in the Woodbine Mile

Blue Heaven Farm’s OBS October Sale catalog cover girl Starship Jubilee punched her ticket to the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) with a victory over the boys in Saturday’s $1,000,000 Woodbine Mile Stakes (G1). Sitting just off the pace in the early going, she moved to contention on the turn, took command a furlong from home and scored by a length under a hand ride. It’s the second grade one win for Canada’s reigning Horse of the Year, five for six this year including four graded stakes wins. Trained by Kevin Attard, she has posted nine graded stakes victories, compiled a 38-19-5-3 career record and earned $2,093,069 to date. The 7-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Indy Wind is a two time OBS graduate, sold by The Acorn at the 2014 August Yearling Sale then consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm to the 2015 April Sale where she went through the ring after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. watch her under tack video

C. DeMizio and Mary E. Biamonte’s Dirty Dangle is two for two and a stakes winner after taking Saturday’s $135,810 Woodbine Cares Stakes. She saved ground early, came out for the drive, blew past the leaders inside the furlong marker and won going away by a length and a quarter. The 2-year-old Not This Time filly worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was sold for $25,000 by J R Racing Stables, Agent for Brayhan Cruz, at the 2020 OBS March Sale. Trained by Ralph J. Biamonte, she has earned $93,903. watch her under tack video
