OBS grads post a pair of stakes wins at Laurel on Labor Day

A trio of OBS grads posted stakes wins on Labor Day; one at Parx and a pair at Laurel.

First Row Partners and Hidden Brook Farm’s Nay Lady Nay (IRE) saved ground early in Laurel’s $98,000 All Along Stakes, got through on the rail turning for home, drew off in the lane and scored by 5-1/2 lengths. Fellow OBS graduate Beautiful Lady (April’18) checked in third. It’s the fourth stakes win for the graded stakes winning 4-year-old filly by No Nay Never, sold by Eddie Woods, Agent, for $210,000 at the 2018 OBS March Sale after an Under Tack quarter in :21 2/5. Larry Pratt and Dave Alden’s Doctor Mounty took the lead at the start of Laurel’s $100,000 Henry S. Clark Stakes and never looked back, opening up in the stretch and coasting to victory by a length and three quarters. That’s four stakes wins for the 7-year-old graded stakes winning son of Street Sense, now 35-9-5-5 with earnings of $572,228 for trainer Shug McGaughey. He was purchased for $170,000 out of the Niall Brennan Stables consignment at the 2015 OBS June Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 3/5. watch his under tack video

Monster Racing Stables’ The Critical Way battled for the lead from the start of Parx Racing’s $88,000 Marshall Jenny Stakes, took charge on the turn and drew away down the stretch to a 4-1/2 length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the 6-year-old son of Tizway, trained by Jose Delgado, now 18-5-4-0 with $254,143 in earnings. At the 2016 OBS June Sale, he breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat and was purchased for $75,000 out of the Wavertree Stables consignment. watch his under tack video
