Starship Jubilee takes Saratoga’s Ballston Spa

Blue Heaven Farm’s Starship Jubilee recovered from an awkward start in Saturday’s $194,000 Ballston Spa Stakes (G2) at Saratoga, tracked the leaders before taking over after turning for home and fought off a stretch-long challenge to score by a neck, with champion Sistercharlie (IRE) finishing third. It’s the ninth graded stakes win for Canada’s reigning Horse of the Year, four for four in 2020 with three graded stakes victories. Now 36-18-5-3 for trainer Kevin Attard, the 7-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Indy Wind has earned $1,608,667 to date. She’s a two time OBS graduate, sold by The Acorn at the 2014 August Yearling Sale then consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm to the 2015 April Sale where she went through the ring after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. watch her under tack video

Gary Barber’s Two Sixty went right to the front at the start of Woodbine’s $129,250 Selene Stakes (G3) on Saturday and never looked back, holding off the late runners and winning by three quarters of a length. It’s the first graded stakes win for the two time OBS graduate, sold by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2018 October Yearling Sale before she was purchased for $260,000 out of the SGV Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2019 March Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5. The 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Uncaptured, trained by Mark Casse, is now 11-4-1-1 with earnings of $472,577. watch her under tack video

Paul P. Pompa, Jr.’s Turned Aside pressed the early pace in Friday’s $100,000 Quick Call Stakes (G3) at Saratoga, took over after turning for home, opened up daylight in the stretch and cruised to victory by a length and three quarters. Fellow OBS graduate Fore Left (March ’19) was another neck back in third. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by American Pharoah, trained by Linda Rice, now 7-3-2-1 with $179,992 in earnings. Consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2019 OBS Spring Sale, he went through the ring after breezing a quarter in :21 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

MyRacehorse.com and Slam Dunk Racing’s Vertical Threat jumped straight from a maiden victory into Saturday’s $66,395 Smiling Tiger Stakes at Del Mar, stalked the pacesetter, took over a quarter mile out and drew off down the stretch to a 5-1/4 length victory. Another two time OBS graduate, the 3-year-old son of Tapiture was sold by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2018 Winter Mixed Sale. He then breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat before he was purchased by MyRacehorse.com for $100,000 out of the Grassroots Training & Sales LLC consignment at the 2019 Spring Sale. Greg Frye & Wesley Hawley’s Absolutely Aiden tried stakes company for the first time in Sunday’s $50,000 Good Lord Stakes at Ellis Park, dueled for the lead, took command in the stretch and held on to win by three quarters of a length. Trained by Wesley E. Hawley, the 4-year-old colt by Stay Thirsty is now 13-7-0-1 and has earned $272,013. After turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5, he was sold for $120,000 by Old South Farm LLC at the 2018 OBS Spring Sale. watch his under tack video
