July Sale Under Tack Show begins Monday, July 6th

The Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s rescheduled 2020 July Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training begins Monday, July 6th, and runs through Saturday, July 11th. All six sessions begin at 7:30 a.m.

Hip No.’s 1-180 will breeze on Monday. Hip No.’s 181- 360 go to the track Tuesday; Hip No’s 361-540 breeze Wednesday; Hip No’s 541-720 work Thursday, Hip No.’s 721 – 900 breeze Friday and Hip No’s 901- 1114 will go to the track Saturday.

The Sale, postponed since its original June dates, is now set for Tuesday, July 14th through Thursday, July 16th with each session beginning at 10:00 a.m.

OBS will again offer Online Bidding during the July Sale. Buyers will be able to go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS Bidding Screen with their credentials. Walking videos and conformation photos may be available in addition to under tack videos for each horse.

Hip No’s 1- 360 go on the block Tuesday, Hip No’s 361- 720 will be offered Wednesday and Hip No.’s 721- 1114 will sell on Thursday.

The Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website at obssales.com and via the Blood-Horse, Daily Racing Form and TDN websites. The workouts will be recorded and can be viewed on the website, in their entirety or by individual hip number. They will also be available in the Video Room as well as several kiosks in the breezeway and covered walking ring. Visitors to Ocala will find the videos available for in-room viewing at The Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, plus lounge viewing is available at the Hilton. Under Tack Show results are posted on the OBS website.

The catalog can be viewed via the OBS website at http://obssales.com. The website’s searchable and sortable master index provides links to under tack videos, pedigree and consignor information as well as pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed. It has also been updated to allow shortlist creation. A link to instructions for using the new features can be found in the index header and a step by step tutorial is available in the index as well.

The iPad version of the entire catalog is available via the equineline Sales Catalog app. The app allows users to download and view the catalog, record notes and also provides innovative search, sort and rating capability. For information and downloads visit: (SalesCatalogApp)

Several of the horses in the sale have had noteworthy updates since the catalog was printed:

  • Hip No. 79, a filly by American Pharoah, is out of graded stakes winner stakes Renee’s Titan, whose half sister Gilded Mirror was third in Japan’s recent NHK Mile Cup (G1)
  • Hip No. 83, a colt by Tapit, is a half brother to newly minted stakes winner Moretti, who captured Belmont’s Flat Out Stakes on June 11th.
  • Hip No. 91, Bell Boy, by Bellamy Road, is a half bother to the dam of newly graded stakes placed OBS graduate Merneith, third in the Santa Anita Oaks (G2) on June 6th.
  • Hip No. 281, a colt by Orb is out of a half sister to Pleasant Orb, second in Gulfstream’s Hollywood Wildcat Stakes on May 15th and third in the Acorn Stakes (G1) on June 28th.
  • Hip No. 305, a filly by Munnings, is a half sister to grade one stakes winner Maids Causeway (IRE), the dam of graded stakes winner Elizabeth Way (IRE) who added a victory in Woodbine’s Nassau Stakes (G2) to her resume on June 27th.
  • Hip No. 319, a son of Bodemeister, is a half brother to Bayerness, third in the Dogwood Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs on June 6th.
  • Hip No. 777, a son of Tourist has a newly stakes placed half brother in Summeronsevenhills, third in the Betsafe Derby Trial on June 11th
  • Hip No. 826, a daughter of Big Blue Kitten is out of a half sister to newly graded stakes placed Hurricane Cloud, second in the Prix de Guiche (G3) at Chantilly on June 10th.
  • Graded stakes placed OBS graduate Dream Marie, second in the Hollywood Wildcat Stakes at Gulfstream on May 15th, is a half sister to Hip No. 859, a daughter of Anchor Down.
  • Hip No. 886, Tiz the Rocket, is a half brother to OBS graduate Edgeway, second in the Dogwood Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs on June 6th.
  • Kimari, second in the Commonwealth Cup (G1) at Ascot on June 19th, is a half sister to Hip No. 1058, a colt by Exaggerator.

Under Tack and sales results are available on the OBS website. Under Tack times and videos are posted shortly after the conclusion of each set, and sale results are updated frequently during each session.
