Gladiator King wins Meydan’s Dubawi Stakes

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi’s Gladiator King took the lead in Meydan’s $200,000 Dubawi Stakes (G3) on Thursday after straightening away in the stretch, then held off a late challenge to win by half a length. Fellow OBS graduate Drafted (March ’16, August ’15) closed from far back to finish third. It was the first start for his new connections for the 4-year-old colt by Curlin, who purchased the winner of Gulfstream’s Hutchseon Stakes (G3) in a private transaction last summer. Now trained by Satish Seemar, he has compiled a 16-6-2-1 career record and earned $378,740 to date. Consigned by Thoroughbred Champions Training Center to the 2018 OBS June Sale, he went through the ring after turning in an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5. watch his under tack video   video of the race
