Mr. Misunderstood, Cullum Road one-two in Churchill’s River City Handicap

Flurry Racing Stables LLC’s Mr. Misundertood was rated off the pace early in the $175,000 River City Handicap (G3) on Saturday at Churchill Downs, rallied wide to reach contention in the stretch and caught fellow OBS graduate Cullum Road (March ’17) in the final sixteenth and beat him to the wire by a neck. It’s his fifth stakes victory at Churchill Downs, joining Wise Dan and Limousine Liberal as the only horses with as many stakes wins at the track over the past 28 years. The 5-year-old gelding by Archarcharch has posted nine stakes wins, compiled a 26-13-3-3 career record and earned $916,954 to date. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds to the 2016 OBS March Sale, he was sold for $130,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. watch his under tack video

Repole Stable’s Dream Bigger pressed the pace in Sunday’s $100,000 Notebook Stakes at Aqueduct, took command at the head of the stretch, opened a big lead a furlong from home and coasted to a length and quarter victory. Fellow OBS graduate Bank On Shea (April ’19) checked in third. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 2-year-old colt by Mission Impazible, purchased for $205,000 by Repole Stable out of the Paul Sharp consignment at the 2019 OBS April Sale after working an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Trained by Rudy Rodriguez, he’s now 4-2-2-0 and has earned $205,828 to date. watch his under tack video
