Hip No. 185, a son of Empire Maker consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was also sold to de Meric Stables, Agent, for $190,000. The bay colt is out of Sweetest Sound, by Smart Strike, a full sister to graded stakes placed Saint Vigeur from the family of champion Sweet Catomine.
Hip No. 103, a chestnut colt by Palace Malice consigned by The Acorn LLC, Agent, was sold to Golden Star Farm for $170,000. He’s out of stakes placed Like a Queen, by Corinthian.
Hip No. 223, a daughter of Into Mischief consigned by Select Sales, Agent, was purchased by Blue Collar Stable for $140,000. The gray or roan filly is out of Unbridled Quest, by Unbridled’s Song, a half sister to grade one stakes placed Aripeka.
Insignia Bloodstock went to $125,000 for Hip No. 105, a son of Nyquist consigned by Select Sales, Agent. The bay colt is out of graded stakes placed stakes winner Little Ms Protocol, by El Corredor.
Hip No. 92, a Bernardini filly consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was purchased for $120,000 by Patrice Miller, EQB, Inc., Agent. The bay filly is out of J. Quirk, by Unbridled’s Song, from the family of champion and major sire Tiznow.
Insignia Bloodstock paid $110,000 for Hip No. 188, a bay colt by Runhappy consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent for Highclere. He’s a half brother to stakes placed Moms Choice out of Tazarine, by Cat Thief.
Hip No. 175, a daughter of Liam’s Map consigned by Sequel New York, Agent, was purchased by Patrice Miller, EQB, Inc., Agent, for $105,000. The gray or roan filly, a half sister to stakes placed Salute With Honor, is out of stakes winner Snow Cone, by Cryptoclearance.
Hip No. 6, a daughter of Street Sense consigned by Beth Bayer, Agent, went to Cotton Plant, Inc. for $100,000. The bay filly is out of Arabic Style, by Medaglia d’Oro, a daughter of stakes winner Dubai Dancer, a full sister to grade one winner Little Belle.
New Day Training Center, Kevin McKathan, Agent, went to $100,000 for Hip No. 38, a daughter of Runhappy consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent. The bay filly, a half sister to graded stakes winner Calgary Caper, is out of Cowgirl Lucky, by Stephen Got Even.
Hip No. 57, a son of Exaggerator consigned by Abbie Road Farm (Lisa McGreevy), Agent, was purchased by Golden Star Farm for $100,000. The bay colt is out of Elle Stormin’, by Tale of the Cat, from the family of graded stakes winner Isayso.
Hip No. 142, a bay Tamarkuz filly consigned by Beth Bayer, Agent, was sold to Top Shelf Bloodstock for $100,000. She’s a half sister to stakes winner Dene Court out of Operetta, by Ascot Knight, and her half brother by English Channel, Theregoesjojo, set a course record in an allowance victory at Woodbine on September 11th.
Shepherd Equine Advisors, Agent for Larry Hirsch paid $100,000 for Hip No.143, a daughter of Temple City consigned by Kerri Szegi, Agent. The gray or roan filly is out of Part of the Charm, by Tapit, a full sister to graded stakes winner Dancinginherdreams.
Hip No. 181, a daughter of Uncaptured consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent, went to Shooting Star TB for $100,000. The chestnut filly, a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winning OBS graduate You Bought Her, is out of Striking T, by Smart Strike.
Shooting Star TB also paid $100,000 for Hip No. 199, by Prospective, a half brother to stakes winner Chance It, who added the FTBOA Florida Sire In Reality Stakes to his resume last week. Consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent, he’s out of Vagabon Diva, by Pleasantly Perfect.
Hip No. 216, a son of Paynter consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent, was sold to de Meric Stables, Agent, for $100,000. The bay colt is out of Passeporta, by Rockport Harbor, a daughter of stakes winner Bay Barrister.
For the day, 121 horses sold for a total of $5,605,200, compared with 138 yearlings bringing $5,658,000 at the 2018 Selected Sale. The average price was $46,324, up 13% compared with $41,000 last year, while the median price was $35,000, a 25% increase compared with $28,000 in 2018. The buyback percentage was 34.9%; it was 24.3% a year ago. Sixteen horses sold for $100,000 or more compared with nine a year ago.
The sale continues Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Hip No.’s 301 – 722 selling in an Open session.
