Snapper Sinclair a millionaire after taking the Tourist Mile Stakes at Kentucky Downs

Bloom Racing Stable’s Snapper Sinclair was well off the pace in Saturday’s $749,000 Tourist Mile Stakes at Kentucky Downs, but came out for the drive after traffic trouble in the turn and came flying late to score by half a length.  It’s the second stakes win for the 4-year-old City Zip colt, trained by Steve Asmussen, the latest OBS millionaire with an 18-5-3-2 record and earnings of $1,040,404. He was purchased for $180,000 out of the Randy Miles consignment at the 2017 OBS April Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

Amalio Ruiz-Lozano’s Ceci Valentina is two for three and a stakes winner after coming from off the pace and closing stoutly to take the Saturday’s $200,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Susan’s Girl Stakes at Gulfstream Park by a length and a half. The 2-year-old Florida-bred filly by Prospective, trained by Angel Rodriguez, is now 3-2-0-1 and has earned $162,750. Colts Neck Stables LLC’s Big City Bob led a 1-2-3 OBS April Sale sweep of the $104,000 Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday. The 2-year-old colt by Shanghai Bobby came three wide into the stretch, kept coming down the lane and was up late to score by a neck over Skyscanner (April ’19), with Mischevious Alex (April ’19) settling for third. Now 3-2-0-0 for trainer Jorge Duarte. Jr., he has earned $88,750 to date. OBS graduates scored three stakes wins at Parx Racing on Labor Day.

Alexis Delgado’s Jeltrin took the lead at the start of the $150,000 Cathryn Sophia Stakes, opened a long lead on the turn cruised to a 7-3/4 length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the graded stakes winning 3-year-old daughter of Tapizar, consigned by C & J Stable to the 2018 OBS April Sale, where she went through the ring after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Woodford Racing LLC’s Engage was kept wide and out of trouble in the early going of the $100,000 Bensalem Stakes, took charge after straightening away in the stretch and held off a late charge to post a half length victory. It’s the third stakes win for the 4-year-old son of Into Mischief, winner of the Futurity (G3) at Belmont at two. Now in the Steve Asmussen barn, he sports an 11-4-4-0 record and earnings of $499,080. He turned in an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5 before he was purchased by Woodford for $550,000 out of the Crupi’s New Castle Farm consignment at the 2017 OBS March Sale. watch his under tack video

Ballybritt Stable LLC’s Dynatail was head and head for the lead in the $100,000 Salvatore M. Debunda PTHA President’s Cup Stakes, lost the lead in mid-stretch then came again late to score by a neck. That’s four stakes wins for the 5-year-old daughter of Hightail, winner of the OBS Championship Stakes in 2017, now 30-8-3-5 with $520,710 in earnings for trainer Michael Dini. She was purchased for $50,000 by Ballybritt out of the Hoppel’s Horse & Cattle Co. consignment at the 2016 OBS June Sale after working an Under Tack eighth in :10 4/5. watch her under tack video
