Significant Form scores in Belmont’s Noble Damsel

Stephanie Seymour Brant’s Significant Form was away slowly in Saturday’s $200,000 Noble Damsel Stakes (G3) at Belmont Park, but chased the leaders on the outside, surged to the lead after turning for home and drew off down the stretch to score her second straight graded stakes victory by 2-3/4 lengths. Trained by Chad Brown, the 4-year-old daughter of Creative Cause has posted four graded wins, compiled a 12-5-1-0 record and earned $804,865 to date. Consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2017 OBS April Sale, she was sold for $575,000 after breezing an Under Tack quarter in :21 flat. watch her under tack video

Gold Square LLC’s Cleon Jones sat just off the pace on the outside in Friday’s $145,800 Bertram F. Bongard Stakes at Belmont Park, moved to challenge after turning for home and was best by a head in a three horse photo finish, with fellow OBS graduate City Man (April ’19) a nose back in third. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old colt by Tale of the Cat, who turned in an Under Tack quarter in :21 flat before he was purchased for $325,000 out of the Eddie Woods consignment at the 2019 OBS March Sale. Now 4-2-1-0 for trainer Jeremiah Englehart, he has earned $167,880 to date. watch his under tack video

Curragh Stables’ Killybegs Captain relaxed off the pace on the inside early in Saturday’s $250,000 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes (G3), came out for the drive, took the lead a furlong from home and held on gamely for a three quarter length victory. It’s the first graded stakes win for the 5-year-old son of Mizzen Mast, trained by John Terranova, leaving him with a 24-6-5-3 career record and $521,453 in earnings. He was sold for $75,000 by Cary Frommer, Agent, at the 2016 OBS April Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

Robert V. LaPenta and Head of Plains Partners LLC’s Coal Front took the lead at the start of Saturday’s $153,500 Parx Dirt Mile Stakes from the outside, was headed inside at the eighth pole and then came again to regain control and win by three quarters of a length.  It’s the sixth stakes victory for the 5-year-old graded stakes winning son of Stay Thirsty, consigned to the 2016 OBS April Sale by Kirkwood Stable, Agent, where he breezed an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5 before he was sold for $575,000 to Steven W. Young on behalf of Mr. LaPenta. He’s now 12-8-0-1 for trainer Todd Pletcher and has earned $1,815,280 to date. watch his under tack video

Colts Neck Stables’ LLC’s Meru is two for two and a stakes winner after taking the lead at the start of the $75,000 Smoke Glacken Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday and never looking back, turning back a challenge from fellow OBS graduate As Seen On Tv (April ’19) and beating him by 3-1/4 lengths. The 2-year-old colt by Sky Mesa sped an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5 before he was sold for $300,000 by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, at the 2019 OBS April Sale. Pewter Stable’s Dubini relaxed well off the pace early in Saturday’s $100,000 Laurel Dash Stakes on the turf, but circled the field on the turn, sustained his run down the stretch and was up in the final yards to score by three quarters of a length. It’s the first stakes win for the 6-year-old graded stakes placed son of Gio Ponti, trained by Kathleen Demasi, now 18-5-5-1 with $324,775 in earnings. Consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2015 OBS March Sale, he was purchased for $162,000 after an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. watch his under tack video

OBS graduates posted three stakes wins on Saturday night at Charles Town.

Scott and Evan Dilworth’s Lady T N T led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of the Charles Town Oaks (G3), leading from start to finish and beating Irish Mischief (April ’18) by two lengths, with Taylor’s Spirit (April ’18) another length back in third. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old daughter of Justin Phillip, trained by Joe Sharp, now 10-3-3-0 with $323,312 in earnings. She breezed an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5 before she was purchased for $335,000 out of the McKathan Bros. consignment at the 2018 OBS March Sale.  watch her under tack video 

D. J. Stable’s Colby stepped into stakes company fresh off a maiden score in Charles Town’s $100,000 Dickie Moore Stakes, stalked the early pace, came after the leaders in the lane and was up late to win by three quarters of a length, with fellow OBS graduate Majestic Edge (June ’19, April ’19) a nose back in third. The 2-year-old Super Saver filly, consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, to the 2019 OBS March Sale, was sold for $440,000 after speeding a quarter in :20 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Now 3-2-0-0 for trainer John Servis, she has earned $90,600. watch her under tack video 

Danny J. Chen’s well traveled Yorkiepoo Princess shipped into Charles Town for the $75,000 Misty Bennett Pink Ribbon Stakes, pressed the pace, took over at the head of the stretch and eased away late to a two length victory. That’s five stakes wins for the 5-year-old graded stakes placed Florida-bred daughter of Kantharos, trained by Claudio Gonzalez, now 27-7-3-2 with $551,177 in earnings. The two time OBS graduate was sold by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, at the 2015 August Sale before her purchase by Mr. Chen for $8,000 out of the Niall Brennan Stables consignment at the 2016 April Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. watch her under tack video 

John Pinkerton’s Black Ops picked up his first stakes win in Albuquerque’s $55,000 Budweiser Special Handicap on Saturday, leading from start to finish and winning by 3-3/4 lengths. The 6-year-old gelding by Hard Spun is a two time OBS graduate, going through the ring at the 2015 March Sale and then breezing an Under Tack quarter in :21 2/5 before he was sold for $20,000 by Whitman Sales, Agent, at the 2015 June Sale. Trained by Justin Evans, he’s now 21-4-4-3 and has earned $141,377 to date. watch his under tack video
