Unbeaten Shancelot romps in Saratoga’s Amsterdam Stakes

Ivan Rodriguez, Albert Crawford and Michelle Crawford’s Shancelot is three for three and a graded stakes winner after leading from gate to wire and winning Saratoga’s $200,000 Amsterdam Stakes (G2) by 12-1/2 lengths in 1:14 flat for six and one half furlongs. The 3-year-old colt by Shanghai Bobby opened daylight after a quarter in :21 3/5 and kept on running, leading by six lengths after a half  in :43 4/5 and by ten lengths after six furlongs in 1:07 3/5, shading Imperial Hint’s track record 1:07 4/5 set in yesterday’s Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap G1). At the 2018 OBS March Sale, he turned in an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5 before he was purchased for $245,000 out of the Kings Equine consignment.
