Neptune’s Storm scores in Santa Anita’s Singletary Stakes

Cybertec International Inc., Saul Gevertz, Lynn Gitomer, Mike Goetz and Daniel Weiner’s Neptune’s Storm pressed the pace in the $100,702 Singletary Stakes on Sunday at Santa Anita, took charge turning for home and fought off two rivals to score by three quarters of a length. It’s the first stakes victory for the 3-year-old Stormy Atlantic gelding, purchased for $130,000 out of the Eddie Woods consignment at the 2018 OBS April Sale after turning in an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5. Auerbach LLC, Ciaglia Racing LLC and Little Red Feather Racing’s The Hunted tried stakes company for the first time in Santa Anita’s $100,702 Crystal Water Stakes on Saturday, rallied wide to reach contention turning for home and then sustained his run to get up late and score by a length. The 4-year-old gelding by Unusual Heat, also trained by Richard Baltas, is now 10-3-1-2 and has earned $155,829. Consigned by Crupi’s New Castle Farm to the 2017 OBS June Sale, he was sold for $95,000 after breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

Peter Redekop B. C. Ltd.’s Anyportinastorm sat just off the leaders in the early going of Saturday’s $75,000 Lost in the Fog Stakes at Golden Gate, reached the front passing the eighth pole then drew off late to a 3-1/2 length victory. It’s the second stakes score for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of City Zip, trained by Blaine Wright, now 11-5-1-4 with $188,225 in earnings. He was sold for $320,000 by de Meric Sales, Agent for Golden Legacy Stables, at the 2016 OBS April Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5. watch his under tack video

Coteau Grove Farms LLC’s Special Blessing went head and head for the early lead in Friday’s $75,000 EVD Distaff Stakes at Evangeline Downs, took command leaving the backstretch and cruised from there to a 6-1/2 length win. That’s two stakes victories for the 4-year-old daughter of Flat Out, consigned by Select Sales, Agent, to the 2016 OBS August Selected Yearling Sale.
