Mucho Gusto scores in Del Mar’s Bob Hope Stakes

Michael Lund Petersen’s Mucho Gusto is two for two and a graded stakes winner after leading at every call and taking Saturday’s $100,000 Bob Hope Stakes (G3) at Del Mar by a length and a half over fellow OBS graduate Savagery (April ’18, January ’17). The 2-year-old colt by Mucho Macho Man was consigned to the 2018 OBS March Sale by Kirkwood Stables, Agent, where he turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Flurry Racing Stables LLC’s Mr. Misundertood sat just off the pace in the $100,000 River City Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Churchill Downs, took over a furlong from home and eased away to a half length victory. It’s the eighth stakes win for the 4-year-old gelding by Archarcharch, trained by Brad Cox, now 21-12-2-1 with $772,354 in earnings. He was purchased for $130,000 out of the Woodford Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2016 OBS March Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. watch his under tack video

Diamond Racing Inc. and Jay and Joan Janssen’s Cafe Du Monde went straight from a Gulfstream maiden victory in September to Saturday’s $100,000 Louisiana Legacy Stakes at Delta Downs. He rallied to take over in the stretch and drew away late to score by two lengths. The 2-year-old colt by New Year’s Day is a two-time OBS graduate, sold by Select Sales at the 2018 Winter Mixed Sale before he was purchased for $50,000 out of the L. Ivery Sisters Racing’s Monte Man racked up his seventh straight stakes win on Saturday at Fair Grounds with a 2-3/4 length wire to wire victory in the $50,000 Heitai Overnight Stakes. The 5-year-old gelding by Custom for Carlos was purchased for $125,000 out of the Royal Thoroughbred International consignment at the 2015 OBS March Sale after working an Under Tack eighth in in :10 1/5.
