Uncle Mo colt fastest at June Under Tack Show’s first session

Hip No. 41, Mo Mississippi, a bay colt by Uncle Mo consigned by Gayle Woods, Agent, worked three eighths in :32 2/5 to post the fastest work at the distance at the first session of the Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2018 June Sale of Two Year Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age. The beginning of the session was briefly delayed by a heavy shower, but once underway, the OBS track surface provided uniform dry footing throughout the entire day.

Mo Mississippi is out of out of Mississippi Queen, by Artie Schiller, a half sister to graded stakes winner Asi Siempre. His breeze time equaled the work turned in by grade one stakes winner Celestine, consigned to the 2014 OBS June Sale by Gayle Woods.

Hip No. 177, Canadian Magic, a bay filly by Magician (IRE) breezed three eighths in :33 1/5. She’s out of Ristretta, by War Front, from the family of champion Leroidesanimaux (BRZ).

Hip No. 61, a bay filly by Cairo Prince consigned by Price Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, worked the session’s fastest quarter, stopping the timer in :20 2/5. She’s a half sister to stakes winning OBS graduate Stormin’ Lyon out of Motel Lass, by Bates Motel.

There were two quarters in :20 3/5.

  • Hip No. 106, is a bay filly by Uncle Mo consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, out of stakes winning OBS graduate Paint Me Red, by Red Bullet.
  • Hip No. 158, Maple Moon, a gray or roan colt by The Lumber Guy consigned by Jose Munoz, is out of Ransom Moon, by Malibu Moon, from the family of graded stakes winner Regal Ransom.

Three horses worked quarters in :20 4/5

  • Hip No. 36, Class Act, consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, is a bay colt by Quality Road out of Miss Drake, by Afleet Alex, a daughter of grade one winner Classy Mirage and a full sister to grade one stakes winner Dublin.
  • Hip No. 42, a chestnut colt by Trappe Shot consigned by Jose Munoz, is out of Miss Olive Oil, by Roman Ruler, a half sister to grade one winner Friendly Michelle.
  • Hip No. 102, Theycallmeprincess, a bay filly by Currency Swap consigned by 30-30 Ranch, is out of stakes placed OBS graduate Over the Counter, by Majestic Warrior.

A pair of youngsters sped quarters in :21 flat.

  • Hip No. 16, a dark bay or brown filly by Turbo Compressor consigned by Paraizo Victoria Farm, is out of Market Price, by Touch Gold, a daughter of stakes winner Country Stage.
  • Hip No. 23, consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, is a bay filly by Atreides, a half sister to graded stakes winner Whitmore, who added Oaklawn’s Count Fleet Handicap (G3) to his resume in April, out of Melody’s Spirit, by Scat Daddy.

Eight horses breezed a quarter in :21 1/5.

  • Hip No. 45, Strong Foundation, consigned by Potrero Stables, Agent, is a dark bay or brown colt by Handsome Mike out of Miss Velocity, by Curlin, a half sister to graded stakes winning OBS graduate East Hall.
  • Hip No. 98, a dark bay or brown colt by Magna Graduate consigned by Golden Rock Thoroughbreds, Agent, is out of Onaccountofyou, by Unaccounted For, a daughter of stakes winner Got You Runnin.
  • Hip No. 107, consigned by C & J Stable, is a chestnut filly by To Honor and Serve out of graded stakes winner Palmilla, by Crowd Pleaser.
  • Hip No. 132, Divide by Four, a dark bay or brown filly by Temple City consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, is out of Ponita, by Even the Score, a half sister to stakes winner Ohio Smile.
  • Hip No. 143, consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm, Agent, is a gray or roan colt by He’s Had Enough out of stakes winner Prize Informant, by Marciano.
  • Hip No. 188, a gray or roan filly by Prospective consigned by Boutte Sales, Agent, is out of Romantic Juliet, by Put It Back, a full sister to graded stakes placed stakes winning OBS graduate High Resolve.
  • Hip No. 191, consigned by Ocala Stud, is a dark bay or brown colt by Overdriven out of stakes placed Rose Bay, by Montbrook, a full sister to stakes winner Sweet Sixteen.
  • Hip No. 203, a gray or roan colt by Flashback consigned by Southern Chase Farm, Inc. (Greg & Karen Dodd), Agent, is out of Salty Not Sweet, by Salt Lake, a full sister to stakes placed Four Corners.

Two horses shared honors for the session’s fastest eighth, clocked in :9 4/5.

  • Hip No. 114, Diamond Gold, consigned by Champions of the Future, is a gray or roan filly by You Luckie Mann out of Party of Eight, by Evansville Slew, from the family of graded stakes placed stakes winner Ride the Rails.
  • Hip No. 211, a dark bay or brown colt by Scat Daddy consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, is out of Satulah, by Gone West, a daughter of graded stakes winner War Thief.

There were six eighths in :10 flat.

  • Hip No. 53, consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales LLC, Agent, is a chestnut filly by Reward the Cat out of Montbright, by Montbrook, a daughter of stakes winning OBS graduate Burn Brightly.
  • Hip No. 108, a chestnut filly by Orb consigned by Bobby Dodd, Agent, is out of Pampering, by Hennessy, a daughter of graded stakes placed Hot Attraction.
  • Hip No. 112, consigned by McKathan Bros., Agent, is a bay filly by Quality Road out of Party Chatter, by Pleasant Colony, and is a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Rock Candy.
  • Hip No. 124, Ben’s Miss Chief, a bay filly by Into Mischief consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, is a half sister to stakes placed Pioneer’s Era out of Pioneer Gal, by Pioneering.
  • Hip No. 148, a dark bay or brown colt by Violence consigned by Hemingway Racing and Training Stables LLC, Agent, is out of Pure Genius, by Mr. Greeley, a daughter of graded stakes placed stakes winner Keeneland Kat.

The Under Tack Show continues Friday, June 8th at 7:30 a.m. Hip No’s 226 – 450 are scheduled to breeze.

Under Tack results and videos are posted on the OBS website at obssales.com and can be viewed on kiosks in the breezeway and in the Video Room adjacent to the Horsemen’s Lounge. In-room viewing is available at The Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, plus lounge viewing is available at the Hilton.

The June Sale is scheduled for Wednesday, June 13th through Friday, June 15th with each session beginning at 10:00 a.m. Hip No’s 1-300 go on the block Wednesday, Hip No’s 301- 600 will be offered Thursday and Hip No’s. 601-936 will sell on Friday.
