Befitting the international marketplace the OBS Spring Sale has become, its graduates have made headlines recently winning major races at home and overseas.  In March, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi’s Rayya led all the way to win the $250,000 UAE Oaks (G3) at Meydan by 3-3/4 lengths. It was the first stakes win for the 3-year-old daughter of Tiz Wonderful, who returned to take on the boys in the $2-million UAE Derby (G2) where she settled for second behind a sensational performance by Mendelssohn. Now 5-2-3-0 with earnings of $644,507 for trainer Doug Watson, she turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was purchased out of the Shooting Star Sales LLC consignment.  watch her under tack video

Meydan Race Course was also the scene of an electrifying stretch run by J Stables, Head of Plains Partners LLC, Summers, Kisber and Summers’ Mind Your Biscuits. Last a quarter mile from home in the $2-million Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) he got up in the last jump to catch fellow OBS graduate X Y Jet (August ’13, January ’13) to win the race for the second straight year. The time was a track record 1:10.12. It’s the fifth graded stakes win for the 5-year-old son of Posse, consigned by SBM Training and Sales, Agent, to the 2015 OBS April Sale, where he turned in an eighth in :10 3/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Chad Summers, he’s now 21-7-8-3 and has earned $3,719,286 to date. watch his under tack video

In California, Allen Racing LLC and Bloom Racing Stable LLC’s Midnight Bisou is on her way to the Kentucky Oaks (G1) after rallying to an emphatic 3-1/2 length win in the $400,000 Santa Anita Oaks (G1). It was the third straight graded stakes victory at Santa Anita for the  3-year-old daughter of Midnight Lute, who also took the Santa Ynez (G2) in January and Santa Ysabel (G3) in March. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds to the 2017 OBS April Sale, she turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was sold to Jeffrey Bloom for $80,000. Now 5-3-2-0 for trainer Bill Spawr, she has earned $450,000 to date.  watch her under tack video

Spring Sale graduates were one-three in Kentucky last week when Churchill Downs Racing Club’s Warrior’s Club, ignored at 23-1, shook loose from trouble a quarter mile from home in Keeneland’s $250,000 Commonwealth Stakes (G3) and was best in a three horse photo. Fellow April graduate Awesome Saturday was a sharp third. It was the first graded stakes win for the 4-year-old colt by Warrior’s Reward, consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, to the 2016 sale, where he breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. He’s now 22-5-4-4 for trainer D. Wayne Lukas and has earned $518,504. watch his under tack video
