Mom’s On Strike captures Keeneland’s Bewitch Stakes

While the record breaking 2018 Spring Sale’s final session was drawing to a close, Carl R. Moore Management LLC and Brad Grady’s Mom’s On Strike was circling horses on the turn, surging to the lead a furlong from home drawing off to win Keeneland’s $150,000 Bewitch Stakes (G3) on Friday by 3-1/4 lengths. It’s the first graded stakes victory for the 5-year-old Florida-bred mare by First Dude, trained by Joe Sharp, now 15-6-4-1 with $385,375 in earnings. A two time OBS graduate, she went through the ring at the 2014 August Yearling Sale and then turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was purchased for $75,000 out of the Best A Luck Farm consignment at the 2015 April Sale.   watch her under tack video 

Live Oak Plantation’s Let It Ride Mom made her 2018 debut in Woodbine’s $218,250 Whimsical Stakes (G3) on Saturday, rallied from well off the pace and was up in the final strides to score by a head. It’s the first graded stakes win for the 4-year-old daughter of Into Mischief, now 11-4-3-0 with earnings of $246,019 for trainer Mark Casse. Consigned to the 2016 OBS March Sale by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, she sped an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5 before she  was purchased by Live Oak for $375,000. watch her under tack video 

Heider Family Stables LLC’s Lady Alexandra sat just off the pace in the early going of Belmont’s $100,000 License Fee Stakes on Sunday, took command in the upper stretch and drew away to a 3-1/2 length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the 4-year-old filly by More Than Ready, purchased for $300,000 out of the Niall Brennan Stables consignment at the 2016 OBS March Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Graham Motion, she’s now 8-4-0-1 and has earned $210,750 to date. watch her under tack video 

Tyree Jacqueline Wolesensky’s Pain and Misery rallied to take the lead in Saturday’s $75,000 Gus Fonner Stakes at Fonner Park in the stretch, then drew off late to win by 3-1/4 lengths. It’s the third stakes win for the 6-year-old gelding by Bob and John, trained by Edward Kereluk, now 31-6-7-8 with $499,432 in earnings. A two-time OBS graduate, he was sold by Potrero Stables at the 2015 August Sale and then purchased for $210,000 out of the de Meric Sales consignment at the 2016 April Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. watch his under tack video
