Colt by Alpha fastest at second Spring Sale Under Tack session

The second session of the Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2018 Spring Sale of Two Year Olds in Training was held under ideal conditions, a far cry from the unseasonable temperatures and stiff headwinds that prevailed at Monday’s opening session. Hip No. 367, a son of Alpha consigned by Jose Munoz, Agent, took advantage of the weather and turned in a quarter in :20 3/5, the session’s fastest work at the distance. The bay colt is a half brother to stakes winner Force out of Forever Valentine, by Silver Deputy.

Three horses worked quarters in :20 4/5

  • Hip No. 211, a dark bay or brown colt by Uncaptured consigned by Craig L. Wheeler, Agent, is out of Cold Forest, by Forestry, from the family of graded stakes winner Rotsaluck.
  • Hip No. 221, consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, is a bay colt by Congrats out of graded stakes placed Corderosa, by Aldebaran.
  • Hip No. 313, Dark Ages, a bay colt by J P’s Gusto consigned by Journeyman Bloodstock Services, Inc. (Brent & Crystal Fernung), Agent, is out of Ephyra, by Corinthian, a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Leonides.

Hip No. 237, a bay filly by Yes It’s True consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, was the only horse to breeze a quarter in :21 flat. She’s a half sister to stakes placed Cryptos’ Holiday out of graded stakes placed stakes winner Cryptos’ Best.

  • Hip No. 278, a bay colt by Quality Road consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, is out of graded stakes winner Disposablepleasure, by Giacomo.

  • Hip No. 325, also consigned by Wavertree, is a chestnut filly by Verrazano out of Expo Gold, by Johannesburg, a daughter of graded stakes placed Clouds of Gold.
  • Hip No. 336, consigned by Envision Equine, Agent, is a gray or roan colt by Exchange Rate out of graded stakes placed stakes winner Fantastic Shirl, by Fantastic Light, and is a half brother to graded stakes placed Fantastic Song.
  • Hip No. 356, Gomez Point, a gray or roan colt by Point of Entry consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, is out of Fleet Goddess, by Holy Bull, a daughter of grade one stakes winner Family Enterprize.
  • Hip No. 377, Special Perfection, a bay colt by Majesticperfection consigned by Shadybrook Farm, Inc., Agent, is a half brother to stakes winner Special Cheers out of Frisky Cheerleader, by Roar.
  • Wavertree also consigned Hip No. 382, a gray or roan colt by Cairo Prince, and a half brother to stakes placed Horse and the City out of Garden City, by Carson City.

Hip No. 370, a chestnut filly by Street Boss consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales LLC, Agent, sped the session’s fastest eighth, stopping the timer in :9 4/5. She’s a full sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Soul Driver out of For Passion, by Not For Love.

  • Hip No. 403, Wicked Wizard, a dark bay or brown colt by Speightstown consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, is out of stakes winner Glinda the Good, by Hard Spun, and is a half brother to champion Good Magic, heading to the Kentucky Derby (G1) after his recent victory in Keeneland’s Blue Grass Stakes (G2).
