April graduate Midnight Bisou romps in Santa Anita Oaks

Allen Racing LLC and Bloom Racing Stable LLC’s Midnight Bisou is on her way to the Kentucky Oaks (G1) after an emphatic 3-1/2 length win in Saturday’s $400,000 Santa Anita Oaks (G1). The 3-year-old daughter of Midnight Lute had one horse beaten on the backstretch, but moved swiftly on the outside, circled horses on the turn, took charge in the stretch and drew off to a comfortable victory. Trained by Bill Spawr, her third straight graded stakes win leaves her with a 5-3-2-0 record and $450,000 in earnings. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds to the2017 OBS April Sale, she turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was sold to Jeffrey Bloom for $80,000. watch her under tack video

William H. Lawrence’s unbeaten Analyze It is three for three with two graded stakes victories after demolishing ten rivals in Keeneland’s $150,000 Transylvania Stakes (G3) on Friday. Relaxed just off the pace in the early going, the 3-year-old colt by Point of Entry circled horses on the turn to take command turning for home and bounded away to a 5-1/4 length score. After an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat, he was purchased  for $190,000 by Bradley Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, out of the Hoppel’s Horse & Cattle Co. consignment at the 2017 OBS March Sale. He has earned $195,000 to date for trainer Chad Brown. watch his under tack video

Uriah St. Lewis’ Discreet Lover, last after stumbling at the start of Saturday’s $150,000 Excelsior Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct, rallied wide to reach the leaders a sixteenth from home and eased away from there to a 2-1/2 length victory. It’s the first graded stakes win for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Repent, trained by his owner, leaving him with a 37-6-7-5 record and $630,860 in earnings. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, he went through the ring at the 2014 OBS August Yearling Sale.

Churchill Downs Racing Club’s Warrior’s Club, ignored at 23-1, shook loose from trouble a quarter mile from home in Keeneland’s $250,000 Commonwealth Stakes (G3) on Saturday, moved to the leaders in the final furlong and was best by a neck in a three horse battle with fellow OBS graduate Awesome Saturday (April ’16) third. It’s the first graded stakes win for the 4-year-old colt by Warrior’s Reward, now 22-5-4-4 for trainer D. Wayne Lukas with $518,504 in earnings. Consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, to the 2016 OBS April Sale, he breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show.  watch his under tack video

 

Riley Racing Stables, LLC, Jason Tackitt, Megan J. Tackitt and Mike Henson’s Gas Station Sushi is two for two and a graded stakes winner after closing stoutly to lead a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of Sunday’s $150,000 Beaumont Stakes (G3) at Keeneland. She beat Kelly’s Humor (August ’17) by a length and a half with Uppercut (April ’17) another three quarters of a length back in third.  Consigned by Old South Farm LLC, Agent, to the 2017 OBS March Sale, the winner was sold for $240,000 after breezing an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. The 3-year-old daughter of Into Mischief, trained by Richard Baltas, has earned $126,000 to date.  watch her under tack video 

Westrock Stables LLC’s Swing and Sway was just off the lead in the early going of Saturday’s $150,000 Carousel Stakes at Oaklawn Park, swing outside for room on the turn, took over in the stretch and bested fellow OBS graduate Thoughtless (August ’13) by half a length at the wire. It’s the second straight stakes win and third overall for the 4-year-old daughter of Macleans Music, trained by Ron Moquett, now 15-5-3-1 with $345,540 in earnings. She was purchased for $185,000 out of the Woodford Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2016 OBS March Sale after speeding an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch her under tack video 

Greg Giles and Hugh H. Robertson’s Glacken’s Ghost got his first stakes win in the $100,000 Arkansas Breeders’ Stakes on Saturday at Oaklawn Park, rallying to take command a furlong from home and drawing away to a 2-1/4 length victory. A three time OBS graduate, he was sold by Perrone Sales at the 2014 Winter Mixed sale, consigned by Pelican State Thoroughbreds to the 2014 August Sale then purchased for $25,000 out of the Inside Move consignment at the 2015 June Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. Trained by McLean Robertson, the 5-year-old Smoke Glacken gelding is now 16-5-3-2 and has earned $277,840.   watch his under tack video
