The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2018 Winter Mixed Sale is now available on the OBS website at http://obssales.com. The online catalog’s main page contains a link to a sortable master index providing searchable pedigree and consignor information as well as access to pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed.
The sortable master index has been updated with advanced search and filter capability and to allow shortlist creation. A link to instructions for using the new features can be found in the index header and a step by step tutorial is available in the index as well.

A total of 254 horses are cataloged for the Preferred Session, scheduled to begin Wednesday, January 24th at 10:30 a.m., followed immediately by 94 horses currently cataloged in the Racing Age Session (Hip Numbers 255 – 348). Supplemental Racing Age entries will be accepted through January 5th and a separate supplemental Racing Age catalog will be available on the OBS website and in printed form at the sales grounds. The 348 horses cataloged in the Open Session (Hip No.’s 401 – 748) will be sold Thursday, January 25th, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The Racing Age section’s optional Under Tack Show is scheduled for Monday, January 22nd at 10:00 a.m.
As always, the sale and Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website and the Blood-Horse and DRF websites.
There are 374 yearlings in the sale by a large and diverse group of sires. Malibu Moon heads a roster of established stallions, a group that also includes Animal Kingdom, Bodemeister, Dialed In, Freud, First Samurai, Kantharos, Macleans Music, More Than Ready, Overanalyze, Quality Road, Shackleford and Violence as well as Florida-based First Dude, Gone Astray and Poseidon’s Warrior.
OBS graduate Carpe Diem heads the group of promising young sires with yearlings in the sale, a list that also includes Bayern, Cairo Prince, Commissioner, Constitution, Daredevil, Declaration of War, Karakonite (JPN), Liam’s Map, Palace Malice, Tapiture, Verazanno and Will Take Charge along with Florida-based He’s Had Enough, Khozan, The Big Beast and Uncaptured.
Broodmare buyers will find mares in foal to a strong group of promising stallions headed by Noble Mission (GB) and including Not This Time and Vancouver (AUS) as well as Florida-based Chitu, Fury Kapkori, Handsome Mike, Jess’s Dream and Rattlesnake Bridge.
Mares will also be offered in foal to a noted roster of sires headed by Creative Cause and includes Broken Vow, Dialed In, Point of Entry and Violence along with Florida-based Treasure Beach (GB) and Two Step Salsa.
