Rich Mommy wins Gulfstream’s Sugar Swirl Stakes

Winds of Change Racing Stable Corp.’s Rich Mommy tried stakes company for the first time in the $100,000 Sugar Swirl Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Gulfstream Park, and the 3-year-old daughter of Algorithms rallied to reach contention turning for home, took charge in the final furlong and scored by two lengths. She was purchased at the 2016 OBS June Sale by Winds of Change for $6,500 out of the Thoroughbreds Champions Training Center consignment after breezing an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. She’s now 10-5-3-1 for trainer Victor Borboza, Jr., with earnings of $162,810. watch her under tack video

Marco Thoroughbred Corp’s Mo Cash slipped between horses to take the lead approaching the head of the stretch in the $125,000 FTBOA Marion County Florida Sire Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on Saturday, then held off favored Three Rules down the stretch to score by three quarters of a length. It’s the third stakes win for the graded stakes placed 4-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Adios Charlie, trained by Ron Spatz, now 8-4-2-0 with $246,984 in earnings.  He worked quarter in :22 flat at the Under Tack Show prior to being sold by Ocala Stud, Agent, for $11,000 at the 2016 OBS June Sale.  watch his under tack video

Lael Stable’s Tricks to Doo set the pace in Saturday’s $50,000 Inaugural Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, opened up daylight on the turn and drew off down the stretch to a 7-1/4 length victory over fellow OBS graduate Arazi Like Move (March ‘17). Two for three with a third place finish for trainer Arnaud Delacour, the 2-year-old colt by Into Mischief has earned $59,300 to date. Consigned by Cary Frommer, Agent, to the 2017 OBS March Sale, he was purchased by Lael Stable after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5.   watch his under tack video
