Seymourdini gallops in Belmont’s State Dinner Stakes

Iris Smith Stable’s Seymourdini took command of Monday’s $100, 000 State Dinner Stakes at Belmont after a quarter mile and ran away and hid from there, galloping to at 10-1/2 length victory, with fellow OBS graduate Madefromlucky (March ’14) checking in third. It’s the first stakes win for the 4-year-old colt by Bernardini, trained by Linda Rice, now 9-5-2-1 with earnings of $229,027. Consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, to the 2015 OBS March Sale, he was sold for $900,000 after breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show.  watch his under tack video

Kaleem Shah’s Run Away went head and head with fellow OBS graduate Argosy Fleet (March ’17) in Santa Anita’s $100,345 Santa Anita Juvenile Stakes on Monday, took charge in deep stretch and beat him to the wire by a length and a half. Unbeaten in two starts for trainer Simon Callaghan, the 2-year-old colt by by Run Away and Hide has earned $92,400 to date. He was purchased for $35,000 out of the Bill Murphy consignment at the 2016 OBS August Yearling Sale.

Peter Redekop’s Aqua Frio picked up his first stakes victory in Sunday’s $50,000 Seattle Slew Stakes at Emerald Downs, turning in a determined stretch run from just off the pace and getting up in the final strides to win by a head. It’s the first win in three starts this year for the 3-year-old colt by Uncle Mo, who sped an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5 before he was sold for $180,000 by Eddie Woods, Agent, at the 2016 OBS March Sale. Now 11-3-6-1 for trainer Blaine D. Wright, he has earned $136,450.  watch his under tack video
