Repole Stable’s Outplay led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of Saratoga’s $100, 000 Curlin Stakes on Friday, taking the lead at the start and never looking back en route to a 5-3/4 length victory. Small Bear (April ’16) and Perfect Partner (March ’16) rallied to be second and third. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Bernardini, now 7-3-2-1 with $163,133 in earnings for trainer Todd Pletcher. He breezed an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show before he was purchased for $275,000 out of the Crupi’s New Castle Farm consignment at the 2016 OBS March Sale. watch his under tack video

OBS graduates were first and second earlier in the afternoon at the Spa in a $73,000 5-1/2 furlong maiden special test. Gold Square LLC’s first time starter Aveenu Malcainu was off the pace in the early going, but came running in the stretch to catch front-running Smokin Platinum (April ’17) a sixteenth from home and prove best by three quarters of a length. Consinged by SBM Training and Sales to the 2017 OBS April Sale, the 2-year-old colt by Into Mischief was sold to Gold Square for $150,000 after turning in an Under Tack Quarter in :21 4/5. Trained by Jeremiah Englehart, the winner earned $43,800. watch his under tack video
