Midshipman colt fastest at June Sale’s second Under Tack session

Hip No. 354, a chestnut colt by Midshipman consigned by Thoroughbred Champions Training Center LLC, sped a quarter in :20 3/5 to post the fastest work at the distance at the second session of the Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2017 June Sale of Two Year Olds and Horses of Racing Age. He’s out of Shine a Spotlight, by Nobiz Like Shobiz, from the family of grade one stakes placed graded stakes winner Take the Cake.

Two horses worked quarters in :21 flat.

  • Hip No. 216, a bay filly by The Factor consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, is a half sister to stakes placed Conquest Soprano out of Opera, by Smart Strike, a daughter of stakes winner Capdiva.
  • Hip No. 236, consigned by Doble Jak LLC, is a dark bay or brown colt by Sidney’s Candy out of Piney River, by In Excess (IRE), from the family of grade one stakes winner Indian Charlie.

  • Hip No. 296, Circus Act, a dark bay or brown colt by Discreet Cat consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, is out of Ringmistress, by Bandini, a half sister to stakes winner Jazzy Gallop.

Hip No. 208, Luz Estrella, a bay filly by With Distinction consigned by Corona Leaders Cup, turned in the session’s fastest three eighths, stopping the timer in :34 1/5. She’s out of Notta Car, by Van Nistelrooy, a daughter of stakes winner Darluna.

 

The Under Tack Show is recorded and available on the OBS website, by entire session or by individual hip number. The works are also available for viewing in the video wall in the rear of the auditorium, the new Video room adjacent to the Horsemen’s Lounge and at kiosks in the lobby, Lounge and the covered walking ring.
