The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2017 Winter Mixed Sale is now available on the OBS website at http://obssales.com. The online catalog’s main page contains a link to a sortable master index providing searchable pedigree and consignor information as well as access to pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed. The main page also contains links to complete information regarding the Repository and updated Conditions of Sale.

A total of 192 horses are cataloged for the Preferred Session, scheduled to begin Wednesday, January 25th at 10:30 a.m., followed immediately by 83 horses currently cataloged in the Racing Age Session (Hip Numbers 193 – 275). Supplemental Racing Age entries will be accepted through January 2nd and a separate supplemental Racing Age catalog will be available on the OBS website and in printed form at the sales grounds. The 349 horses cataloged in the Open Session (Hip No.’s 401 – 749 will be sold Thursday, January 26th, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The Racing Age section’s optional Under Tack Show is scheduled for Monday, January 23rd at 10:00 a.m.
As always, the sale and Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website and the Blood-Horse and DRF websites.
The OBS Championship Stakes races, run this year again in conjunction with the Winter Mixed Sale, are set for Tuesday, January 24th, with first post at noon. More information regarding the Championship Stakes can be found on the OBS website and the Condition Book will be online shortly.
There are 322 yearlings in the sale by a large and diverse group of sires. Uncle Mo heads a roster of established stallions, a group that also includes City Zip, Congrats, Gemologist, Into Mischief, Mineshaft, Munnings, Quality Road and Yes It’s True as well as Florida-based Big Drama, Biondetti, and Gone Astray.
Will Take Charge heads the group of promising young sires with yearlings in the sale, a list that also includes Cairo Prince, Fed Biz, Goldencents, Oxbow, Paynter, Strong Mandate, Take Charge Indy, Twirling Candy, Union Rags and Violence along with Florida-based Handsome Mike, Poseidon’s Warrior and Uncaptured.
Broodmare buyers will find mares in foal to a strong group of promising stallions headed by Honor Code and including Bayern, Mr. Speaker, Palace Malice, OBS graduate Secret Circle, Summer Front, Tonalist and Wicked Strong as well as Florida-based Drill, Fury Kapcori, He’s Had Enough, Rattlesnake Bridge and The Big Beast.
Mares will also be offered in foal to a noted roster of sires headed by Colonel John, and includes Astrology, Graydar, Macho Uno, Shanghai Bobby and Temple City along with Florida-based Awesome of Course, First Dude and Two Step Salsa.
