Shane’s Girlfriend scores in the Delta Downs Princess Stakes

ERJ Racing LLC, W.C. Racing & Dennis O’Neill’s Shane’s Girlfriend is two for two and a graded stakes winner after taking command of Saturday’s $400,000 Delta Downs Princess Stakes (G3) on the  turn and romping from there to a 13-1/4 length victory. The 2-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Adios Charlie turned in an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5 at the 2016 OBS June Sale’s Under Tack Show and was purchased by Dennis O’Neill for $95,000 from breeder Ocala Stud. Live Oak Plantation’s Let It Ride Mom relaxed well off the pace in Saturday’s $125,000 Glorious Song Stakes at Woodbine, but the 2-year-old filly by Into Mischief rallied wide on the turn, took charge a furlong from home and held off a late run to win by half a length. Trained by Mark Casse, her first stakes victory leaves her with a 4-2-2-0 record and earnings of $123,106. Consigned to the 2016 OBS March Sale by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, she breezed an eighth in :9 4/5 before she  was purchased by Live Oak for $375,000.  watch her under tack video 

MMG Stables LLC’s El Areeb jumped from an October maiden win into Laurel’s $100,000 James F. Lewis III Stakes on Saturday and led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep, taking the lead at the start and staying there all the way, cruising home by 5-1/4 lengths. Two Charley’s (April ’16, August ’15) was second; High Roller (April ’16, August ’15) checked in third. Trained by Cathal Lynch, the 2-year-old colt by Exchange Rate is now 4-1-2-0 and has earned $94,200. Consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, to the 2016 OBS March Sale, he breezed an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show before being purchased by MMG for $340,000. watch his under tack video 

Gelfenstein Farm’s Sharp Azteca took the lead at the start of the $100,000 City of Laurel Stakes on Saturday and never looked back, drawing away in the stretch to a 5-1/4 length victory. It’s the second stakes score for the graded stakes winning two time OBS graduate, sold by Select Sales at the 2014 August Sale before he was purchased for $220,000 at the 2015 April Sale by Gelfenstein Farm from de Meric Sales, Agent for Golden Legacy Stables, after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. The 3-year-old son of Freud, trained by Jorge Navarro, is now 8-4-2-0 with $306,250 in earnings. watch his under tack video 

Michael R. Cox’s Rockin Jojo rallied wide into the stretch of Saturday’s $75,000 Geisha Stakes at Laurel, then closed strongly to get up in the final strides and win by a head. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 4-year-old daughter of Street Magician, trained by Guadalupe Preciado, now 18-5-3-4 with earnings of $289,012. Consigned by Best a Luck Farm LLC, Agent, to the 2014 OBS April Sale, she worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. watch her under tack video

St. George Stable LLC’s Wildcat Wish picked up his first stakes win on Saturday in the $75,000 Sam’s Town Stakes at Delta Downs charging down the stretch and getting up late to win by a head. Trained by Efren Loza, Jr., the 3-year-old Florida-bred gelding is now 16-4-5-4 and has earned $186,715 to date. A two time OBS graduate, he was sold by Beth Bayer, Agent, at the 2014 Winter Mixed Sale, and later purchased for $95,000 out of the Shamrock Stables consignment at the 2015 April Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. watch his under tack video 

Driver, Ywachetta and Travis’ Rivers Run Deep led from wire to wire and won Saturday’s $75,000 Cardinal Handicap at Mahoning Valley Race Course by 3-1/4 lengths. Fellow OBS graduate Candy Bites (April ’12) settled for third. It’s the sixth win in seven starts this year for the 5-year-old son of Ready’s Image, sold for $77,000 to Garry Simms, Agent for James Driver, by Rod McVey, Agent, at the 2013 OBS June Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 3/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Chris Hartman, he has a dozen stakes wins, a 31-16-8-3 record and $906,640 in earnings. watch his under tack video
