Acapulco heading for Ascot after taking Churchill’s Unbridled Sidney Stakes

Michael B. Tabor, Mrs. John Magnier and Derrick Smith’s Acapulco is headed back to Ascot after shrugging off an early challenge in Saturday’s $63, 433 Unbridled Sidney Stakes at Churchill Downs and romping to a 3-1/2 length victory. It’s the second straight win for the 3-year-old Scat Daddy filly, winner of Ascot’s Queen Mary Stakes (G2) and second against older horses in York’s Nunthorpe Stakes (G1) last summer. Trained by Wesley Ward, she’s compiled a 5-3-1-1 record and has earned $249,734 to date. Consigned by McKathan Bros., Agent, to the 2015 OBS March Sale, she went to M. V. Arnold Zetcher LLC’s Arcature took command of the $100,845 Singletary Stakes at Santa Anita at the quarter pole, opened up daylight in mid-stretch, then held off a late run by fellow OBS graduate Tristan’s Trilogy (March ’15 ) to win by a head. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Archarcharch, purchased for $250,000 from Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, at the 2015 OBS April Sale after working in eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Simon Callaghan, the win leaves him 4-2-1-0 with $105,170 in earnings. watch his under tack video

Little Red Feather Racing and R/M Racing’s Bellamentary took the lead at the top of the stretch of Sunday’s $80,035 Angels Flight Stakes at Santa Anita and cruised from there to her first stakes win by 2-1/4 lengths over fellow OBS graduate Forever Darling (April ’15) Little Red Feather purchased the 3-year-old daughter of Bellamy Road for $175,000 out of the Tom McCrocklin consignment at the 2015 OBS April Sale after she turned in an Under Tack quarter in :22 flat. Trained by Phil D’Amato, she’s now 5-3-1-0 and has earned $135,400. watch her under tack video

N.T.S Stable’s Yourdreamsormine swung wide to reach contention in Friday’s $75,000 Bull Gator Stakes at Gulfstream, hit the front inside the final furlong and drew off to a three length victory over fellow OBS graduate We’re All Set (April ’13, August ’12), later disqualified by the stewards and placed third. It’s the second stakes score for the 4-year-old Florida-bred colt by Mr. Sekiguchi, a two time OBS graduate. Consigned first by breeder Bridlewood Farm to the 2012 Fall Mixed Sale, he was purchased for $37,000 out of the All Dreams Equine consignment at the 2014 OBS June Sale after breezing three eighths in :32 4/5 at the Under Tack Show.  Now trained by Milt Wolfson, he improved his record to 23-4-4-4 and boosted his bankroll to $241,750. watch his under tack video

Allan, Lovat & Pigram’s Nemoralia was a dominating winner of the Longines Irish Champions Weekend Fillies Stakes (Michael Seely Memorial Stakes) on Friday at York, taking over a quarter mile from home and rolling to a six length victory. It’s the second stakes victory for the well-traveled 3-year-old daughter of More Than Ready, who was second last fall in the Frizette (G1) on dirt at Belmont then third in Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) at Keeneland. She was purchased for $170,000 out of the Wavertree consignment at the 2015 March Sale after she turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Trained by Jeremy Noseda, she’s now 7-3-2-1 and has earned $265,248. watch her under tack video
