P.R. Laird and Eoin Harty’s Drafted scored at first asking at Keeneland on Wednesday, becoming the first horse to come out of a 2016 two-year-old in training sale and break his maiden. The 2-year-old colt by Field Commission took command of the $50, 000 maiden special weight test at the top of the stretch and drew away from there to a 2-3/4 length victory in a track record :50.45 for 4-1/2 furlongs. A two time OBS graduate, he went through the ring at the 2015 August Sale before he was purchased for $35,000 by Eoin Harty out of the Kim Harrison consignment at the 2016 March Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5.
