March Sale begins Tuesday

The OBS March Sale of Two Year Olds in Training begins on Tuesday, March 15th. Hip No.’s 1 – 306 will sell Tuesday and Hip No.’s 307 – 613 will be offered Wednesday, March 16th. Both sessions will begin at 11:00 a.m. As always the sale will be streamed live via the OBS website at obssales.com and the Blood-Horse and DRF websites.

The catalog is available online via the OBS website. A sortable master index provides searchable pedigree and consignor information as well as access to pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed. The main page also contains links to complete information regarding the state of the art Repository and updated Conditions of Sale, implemented at the recent OBS Winter Mixed Sale.

The iPad version of the catalog can be accessed via the equineline Sales Catalog App. The App allows users to download and view the catalog, receive updates and results, record notes and also provides innovative search, sort and rating capability. At the Under Tack Show, a trio of fillies shared honors for the fastest quarter, stopping the timer in :20 2/5. On Thursday it was Hip No. 257, a gray or roan filly by The Factor consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, out of stakes winner Silver Cub, by City Zip, a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Aspenglow.

That time was equaled Friday by daughters of Frost Giant and Twirling Candy. Hip No. 532, consigned by Dormellito Stud Sales, is a dark bay or brown filly by Frost Giant out of Easy Erin, by Johannesburg, a daughter of graded stakes winner Dancin Renee. Hip No. 558, a dark bay or brown filly by Twirling Candy consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, is out of Felicitee, by Menifee, a half sister to graded stakes placed Mazella.

Three colts tied for the Under Tack Show’s fastest eighth, each clocked in :9 3/5. On Thursday, it was Hip No. 322, a dark bay or brown son of Adios Charlie consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, out of The Church Lady, by Valid Wager, and a half brother to OBS graduate Swift Lady, winner of the recent Sweet Life Stakes at Santa Anita.

On Friday it was Hip No. 449, consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm, Agent, a bay colt by City Zip out of Cap’s Legacy, by Stroll, a daughter of stakes winner In My Cap and Hip No. 606, a chestnut colt by Kantharos consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, out of Gracious Assault, by Glitterman, a full sister to graded stakes placed Glitman.

The Under Tack Show videos are posted online at obssales.com as well as viewable on site via video kiosks located around the sales pavilion. Current information about OBS sales, consignors and graduates is now also available via social media sites Facebook and Twitter. A link on the homepage directs users to either site.

Under Tack results, sales results are available on the OBS website, updated frequently during each session.
