Land Over Sea wins the Fair Grounds Oaks

Reddam Racing’s Land Over Sea swept to contention on the turn of Saturday’s $400, 000 Fair Grounds Oaks (G2), took the lead a sixteenth from home and drew away to win by 4-1/2 lengths. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old daughter of Bellamy Road, previously on the board in four graded stakes, and it leaves her with an 8-2-4-1 record and $472,000 in earnings. Trained by Doug O’Neill, she was purchased by his brother Dennis from Victor Davila for $130,000 at the 2015 April Sale after she breezed an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. That same O’Neill/Davila connection produced the purchase of classic winner I’ll Have Another for Reddam Racing at the 2011 April Sale. watch her under tack video

Xpress Thoroughbreds LLC’s Will Munnings picked up his first stakes win in Saturday’s $100,000 Gazebo Stakes at Oaklawn Park, battling head and head for the early lead, taking charge turning for home and coasting home a winner by a length and three quarters. Consigned by Randy Bradshaw, Agent, to the 2015 OBS April Sale, the now 3-year-old colt by Munnings worked an eighth in :10 flat before being sold to Xpress Thoroughbreds for $80,000. Trained by William H. Fires, he’s now 9-3-2-0 and has earned $169,880. watch his under tack video
