Fantastic Style scores in Santa Anita’s Las Flores Stakes

Kaleem Shah’s Fantastic Style, idle since winning the Great Lady M Stakes (G2) at Los Alamitos in July, returned to the races on Sunday, took command of Santa Anita’s $100,000 Las Flores Stakes (G3) at the head of the stretch and romped from there to a four length victory over fellow OBS graduate Ben’s Duchess (March ’14). It’s the third straight win for the 4-year-old filly by Harlan’s Holiday, trained by Bob Baffert, now 7-5-1-1 with earnings of $332,000. She was purchased for $525,000 by Donato Lanni, Agent, out of the Eisaman Equine consignment at the 2014 OBS April Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5. watch her under tack video

Speedway Stable LLC’s Collected was much the best in the $415,000 Sunland Park Festival of Racing Stakes on Sunday, going right to the lead and never looking back en route to a two length victory. It’s the second stakes score for the 3-year-old colt by City Zip, winner of Santa Anita’s Sham Stakes (G3) in January. Consigned by SGV Thoroughbreds (Steven Venosa), Agent, to the 2015 OBS March Sale, he was purchased by Speedway Stable for $170,000 after turning in an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Cheyenne Stables LLC, Southern Equine Stable LLC and Hat Creek Racing’s Clothes Fall Off shook off slamming into the gate at the start of Aqueduct’s $125,000 Correction Stakes, stalked the leader before taking over on the turn then cruised home a winner by a length and a half. It’s the first stakes win for the 4-year-old graded stakes placed filly by Daaher, consigned by Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds LLC to the 2014 OBS March Sale and then sold to Cheyenne Stables for $150,000 after breezing an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Kretz Racing LLC’s Iron Rob picked up his second straight stakes win on Sunday, scoring by a length and a half in the $79,695 San Pedro Stakes at Santa Anita. The 4-year-old Twirling Candy colt is a two time OBS graduate, going through the ring at the 2014 August Sale before he was sold for $90,000 by Hemingway Racing and Training Stables to Gayle Van Leer, Agent, at the 2015 April Sale after turning in an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by George Papaprodromou, the win leaves him 10-3-2-0 with $157,320 in earnings. watch his under tack video
