Switching to the dirt after a second place finish in the Cecil B. DeMille Stakes on the Del Mar turf course, the 3-year-old colt by City Zip, trained by Bob Baffert, is now 3-2-1-0 and has earned $111,200 to date. Winning Stables, Inc. and Midnight Rider LLC’s Fast Flying Rumor took the lead at the start of Saturday’s $90,000 Turf Dash Stakes and never looked back, opening up and winning by 4-3/4 lengths, running five furlongs in a swift :55 flat. It’s the second stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred gelding by West Acre, trained by Gerald Bennett, now 15-5-5-0 with $180,795 in earnings.
