X Y Jet romps in Gulfstream’s Mr. Prospector Stakes

Gelfenstein Farm’s X Y Jet gave nothing else a chance in Saturday’s $102, 000 Mr. Prospector Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park, taking the lead right from the start, opening a long lead on the turn and coasting home a winner by 9-1/4 lengths. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Kantharos, trained by Jorge Navarro, now 12-4-5-1 with earnings of $214,863. A two time OBS graduate, he was first consigned by Two Sharp Hats to the 2013 Winter Mixed Sale before they sold him for $56,000 at the 2013 August Yearling Sale. Selected Sale conformation photo

Long Lake Stable LLC and Beacon Hill Thoroughbreds LLC’s Tammy the Torpedo rallied to hook up with front running fellow OBS graduate Celestine (June ’14) down the stretch of Gulfstream’s $80,250 Tropical Park Oaks and was best by a neck at the wire. The 3-year-old graded stakes placed daughter of More Than Ready picked up her first stakes win, improved her record to 6-3-0-1 and boosted her bankroll to $164,500. After working an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show prior to the OBS April Sale, she was sold for $225,000 by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent. watch her under tack video
