Yourdreamsormine takes Gulfstream’s Unbridled Stakes

Ione Elkins’ Yourdreamsormine trailed in the early going of Saturday’s $150, 000 Florida Sire Unbridled Stakes at Gulfstream but came running wide off the turn, charged past the field in the stretch and got up at the wire to win by a head at odds of 35-1. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Mr. Sekiguchi, purchased for $37,000 by trainer Bill Kaplan on behalf of Mrs. Elkins out of the All Dreams Equine consignment at the 2014 OBS June Sale after breezing three eighths in :32 4/5 at the Under Tack Show.  Now 15-3-3-3, he has earned $169,500 to date. watch his under tack video

Anthony A. Lenci’s Catalina Red cruised to his third stakes win at Gulfstream on Saturday, taking the lead from fellow OBS graduate Looks Good  (June ’14) in the $75,000 Jackson Bend Stakes a furlong from home and easing away late to win by 2-1/4 lengths. Trained by Chad Stewart, the 3-year-old  Florida-bred colt by Munnings is now 7-3-1-2 and has earned $127,285.  A two-time OBS graduate, he was sold to Nick de Meric, Agent, at the 2013 Selected Yearling Sale prior to his purchase by Mr. Lenci for $71,000 out of the de Meric Sales consignment at the 2014 April Sale after an Under Tack Quarter in :21 1/5. watch his under tack video   Selected Sale conformation photo

WinStar Farm LLC’s Net Gain came from well off the pace in The $80,000 Iowa Breeders’ Derby at Prairie Meadow on Saturday, took command  turning for home and drew away to  a 6-1/4 length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Include, sold for $325,000 by Scanlon Training Center, Agent, at the 2014 OBS April Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Trained by Bill Mott, he’s now 9-2-1-3 and has earned $129,651. watch his under tack video

John Carver, Jerry Hollendorfer and Green Smith’s Outside Nashville had only one horse beaten in the early going of Saturday’s $58,165 Joseph T. Grace Handicap at Santa Rosa, but the 5-year-old gelding by Broken Vow charged down the outside in the stretch and won going away by a length and a half.  He was sold by Eisaman Equine, Agent, for $115,000 to Hollendorfer and Smith at the 2012 OBS March Sale after he worked an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, the win gives him four stakes wins, a 23-6-3-4 record and $269,430 in earnings.  watch his under tack video

Joseph P. Morey  Jr.’s Solomon Bay picked up his first stakes win at Santa Rosa on Saturday in the $53,550 Robert Dupret Derby, stalking the leaders before taking over in the stretch, surrendering the lead in deep stretch and then coming again to getting up to win by a nose. The 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Leroidesanimaux (BRZ), trained by William Morey, is now 7-2-2-0 and has earned $61,735. Consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, to the 2014 OBS April Sale, he was purchase by his trainer for $32,000 after a quarter in :21 4/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

David Wolochuk, Patrick Dale Montoya and Blue Snow Racing Stables’ Cat Trap took the lead at the start of the Saturday’s $50,000 Aspen Cup Stakes at Ruidoso Downs and never looked back en route to a 9-1/4 length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Cowtown Cat, trained David Wolochuk, now 4-3-0-0 with $61,660 in earnings.  A two-time OBS graduate, she was consigned to the 2012 Fall Mixed Sale by Silver Oaks Farm before she was purchased for $60,000 by Mr. Wolochuk out of the Silver Star consignment at the2014 April Sale after breezing an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch her under tack video
