Ranlo Investments LLC’s Lady Shipman led every step of the way through fast fractions in Monday’s $100, 000 Coronation Cup Stakes at Saratoga, opened up a five length lead in the stretch and coasted home a 3-1/4 length winner. The time for the 5-1/2 furlongs on the turf was 1:00 4/5. It’s the fifth stakes win for the 3-year-old filly by Midshipman, who took the 2015 OBS Sprint Stakes in track record time last January and has also posted stakes wins at Monmouth and Pimlico. Trained by Kathleen O’Connell, she’s now 9-7-0-2 and has earned $278,800 to date.
