Hebbronville, Big John B post graded stakes wins

Choctaw Racing Stable, Winning Horse Stable and Scott Galloway’s Hebbronville picked up his first stakes win at Monmouth Park on Saturday, rallying from last in the field of six and getting up in the final yards to win the $101,000 Jersey Shore Stakes (G3) by a neck. It’s the second straight win for the 3-year-old colt by Majesticperfection, consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2014 OBS March Sale where he worked an eighth in:10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. Michael House’s Big John B took charge turning for home in Del Mar’s $100,000 Cougar II Handicap (G3) on Friday, opened up a length in the stretch then held on for a half length victory. It’s the second graded stakes win for the 6-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Hard Spun, trained by Philip D’Amato, now 33-13-5-4 with earnings of $567,175. He was sold for $30,000 by Flying Fish, Agent, at the 2011 OBS June Sale, after working an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. watch his under tack video

Tucci Stables’ Riker is two for two and a stakes winner after taking the lead at the start of Saturday’s $98,500 Colin Stakes at Woodbine and staying there to the wire, scoring a half length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Tizzarunner (March ’15) checked in third. The 2-year-old son of Include, trained by Nicholas Gonzalez, has earned $84,154 to date. He was sold for $60,000 by Paul Sharp, Agent, at the 2015 OBS April Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. watch his under tack video

Pinnacle Racing Stable LLC, R. Norman, Roger L. Justice & H. Jack Hendricks’ My Point Exactly set the pace in Saturday’s $75,000 Bear’s Den Stakes at Gulfstream, surrendered the lead in the stretch, then came again and was up in the final strides to win by a head. It’s the third stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred colt by Concord Point, purchased for $65,000 out of the Eddie Woods consignment at the 2014 OBS April Sale after breezing a quarter in :21 3/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Bill Kaplan, he’s now 10-4-0-1 and has earned 8-3-0-1 with $189,757 in earnings.  watch his under tack video
